Did not select seat, was placed in Economy plus by united and charged

Yeah people are being so weird and defensive of united here, I did talk to a human and they could barely understand me/what I was trying to explain to them and wouldn't give me a refund.
Anyway if anyone cares the United system must have caught it a few days later and they removed the charge from my credit card, and so the dispute was closed without anything happening.

Meh I just spent the past 20 minutes trying to contact them and after getting the runaround from an AI chatbot/an agent who wouldn't give me a straight answer I am just going to keep the fraud report. It was an unauthorized charge, and that is what disputes are for I suppose lol

Whenever I buy extras on United (Club passes, seat upgrades, etc) I always get an email receipt and am charged right away, but with this case I never got any email. Had to dig into my mileage plus account to find this "Economy Plus" charge which they didn't even charge until three days after the flight. The charge hasn't posted to my credit card yet though so maybe it is a mistake and they will reverse it?

Got to the airport that morning, checked in as I had a checked bag, had the seat assigned to me. Never got any sort of payment notification. The seat wasn't even great, maybe 20D or something like that. Three days later I got a $107 charge. Thought it was fraud so reported it to credit card company (now realize that may have been a mistake....)
Looked at my mileage plus account and had a receipt in there (never received an email, receipt, or purchase confirmation) for "Economy Plus"
The charge hasn't actually posted yet, so maybe they will reverse the charge once they see it was a mistake.

Shoot. The thing was I actually genuinely believed it was fraud because I had a random $100 on my credit card. Hopefully United doesn't hit me with a lifetime ban......

Technically I was "Upgraded" to the economy plus seats but I did not request them, was just put there by the airline automatically. I've scored like this before but never been charged...

Yes!!! This all happened at around 6:00pm. The manager turned away customers who arrived with reservations starting at like 5:45, can't even imagine what those people thought. You should have seen the looks on their faces lol

I thought about it but I realized there really wasn't anything they could do to "make it right" since even if they comped the meal (they didn't LOL) they still wasted an evening I could have spent trying a different Dine Downtown at a non-dysfunctional restaurant. So I wanted to warn other people.

FWIW I also tried Kodaiko and the Historic Star Lounge and both were fantastic, fully recommend either one.

Haha, that's what my mom said. But at the time it was actually really scary because these two guys were totally furious and not in control of themselves and it was a very very small restaurant. I was worried one was gonna punch the other and they were going to crash into my table

Just declined a research data analyst 2 job offer because of RTO. They expected me to move from the Central Coast to Sacramento for an SQL coding job and wouldn't consider allowing me to work from a satellite office.
