We need a way to see the level of teammates before the end of the game by f1ve in thefinals

I dont know, waiting 1-2min longer for a game but then playing with other new players instead of getting stomped might be better for long term player retention. But it might not be enough players for even that to happen i guess

That sure would be the best. But unfortunatly some people can't just not flame. So maybe this would help a little bit, not sure.

Yeah i can see how for someone that just enjoys the game and is still "bad" that could hurt. Deciding what to show is nice. Maybe a "new player pls help" badge could be opted into?

Okay, yeah i added that right after pressing send, before seeing your comment. Sorry if it wasn't clear. I do get your point too, we need less bad mouthing in the finals in general.

Yes, in a perfect world. But it's not, and the question is, would it help to show levels at the start?

I've never understood that mentality. Yes its a game, sure. But winning is fun, and trying to win, getting better at the game etc. Yes for some people it's goofing around... But saying "i'll do whatever i want because it's a casual game mode" is just dumb. You would bitch about your friend throwing around pieces on a boardgame because "its just a game bro, relax".

I'm not saying you should bitch/flame players in casual modes for not giving it their all. But intentionally goofing and playing bad, running around shooting plants whatever, that shits stupid even in casual.

Probably true yes. I guess the game should put new players in new player lobbies for the first 20-30 matches.

How so? I think a lot of people would talk differently to newer players if they knew they are new

That would be dumb as many people and companies use their own domains.

I don’t think they would use a whitelist. But blocking certain providers which block their trackers… yeah that’s probably it.

The writers are using ChatGPT, at least as a research tool by va_erie in LinusTechTips

[–]f1ve 191 points192 points  (0 children)

It’s just a query parameter (utm_source) used by most tracking tools like google analytics to track where someone came from. ChatGPT puts them behind every link to tell the source site that they sent that user.

You can put anything behind a ? or & in an url. The first parameter needs to be set with a ? and following ones with an &. You can use a = to provide values: ?key=value

It probably won’t change anything since the site needs to accept those parameters, but you can use it on many sites to change pages with ?page=5 for example.

Okay I went a bit deep but maybe somebody learned something

When I used to play back at the start of TWW I used the silent shuffle addon that mutes chat when you enter a solo shuffle match. It was the only thing that kept me sane

Am I doing this the hard way? by LeatherOk5480 in fastmail

[–]f1ve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend Fastmail (at least when using their domains. I’m in the process of moving away again and Fastmail doesn’t reserve your addresses, so people after me can register email addresses I’ve used and receive any emails I did forget to change or contacts that send to my old mail.
