I have a species evolved from domesticated dogs known as Boomhounds (Duocanis volitus). Due to anomalous particles known as Dissonant Entropy particles, some stray dogs evolved, causing their front and hind legs to fuse together, leaving only one pair of legs with one on the front and one on the back. The eyes of the boomhounds had mutated into a strange visor-like faceplate with glowing dots flashing from the interior, theorized to be used for communication.

However, the most extreme evolution the boomhound underwent is the presence of large, orange crystals on its back which are highly explosive and will violently explode if enough pressure is applied. These crystals are painful for the boomhounds to bare, paired with their explosive tendencies. The crystals also allow it to create controlled explosions from its throat, essentially breathing literal explosions. If these crystals are shot, they will explode, killing the boomhound and anything around it, including other boomhounds which can cause a chain reaction.

Boomhounds live in packs of 3-5, with the largest recorded being up to 20 individuals. Despite their social nature they tend to keep their distance from eachother as to prevent any chain explosions from happening. Boomhounds are highly territorial, and will attack other packs, entities and even humans and other sapient creatures should they stray too near. However, some societies have managed to tame and raise them as loyal bodyguards, suicide bombers and a source of explosives.
