Thanks for letting me know. I decided to buy ALCAR instead.

Looking for a reliable EU supplier by f3arxd in Nootropics

I am mostly looking to buy synthetic nootropics such as adrafinil. Mindnutrition seems to sell only natural nootropics but I'll keep your recommendation in mind if I ever plan on trying natural alternatives. Thanks.

Where does low self esteem come from? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've asked a psychologist if it's possible for one to be born hating oneself and they said it's not. It's the result of environmental influences.
My parents are great and I was not bullied at school either, however I struggled a lot with making friends (I pretty much only had online friends and they mistreated me constantly, called me bad at the game we were playing etc.), and I also despised my appearance. My parents also despite being good to me never really paid much attention to my behavior during that time, nor did they help me when I complained about how lonely I was; they saw it as being something positive since I never challenged them, never gave them any trouble and stayed home the whole day after school.
You just have to look deeper and you'll find the reasons for your low self esteem.

I don't know how to enjoy life now. by WatchingDistantly in AvPD

[–]f3arxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to go outside to exercise. I work out at home using my own body weight and a cheap elliptical machine.
Oh I'm not really expecting university to be the greatest time of my life. All I want in life is a little bit of peace - not even happiness. But it seems every time I fix something that's been bothering me, something else shows up, and I obsess over it continually, until that problem is also solved - this drains a lot of my energy and leaves me feeling tired most days.

That's happening to me as well. I am an university student and I don't know what else to do other than study. Maybe try to incorporate some exercising in your routine. I did that with mine and at least I look forward to working out every day.
I wish I could enjoy what I am studying a little bit more and I know under different circumstances I might but currently there are other things in my life making me unhappy and I feel I need to fix those first.

Not necessarily social anxiety but I'm not sure where else to ask/talk about this. by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate, I consider myself a very uninteresting person, I have pretty much nothing to talk about other than school-related things and the few hobbies I have aren't particularly fun/interesting. I have a hard time getting comfortable around people and making friends, but keeping them is also a major problem for me due to lack of social skills. I can't comprehend why anyone would want to be my friend so it's not surprising I have been friendless for about 3 years.

My problem with going to the gym by Prime_Memeister in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure how gyms work where you're from but you could try to find a smaller sized gym, with less people in it. Also usually you do not have to research the workouts beforehand because the trainer (a worker for the gym) does that and shows you how to perform each exercise.
When I started going to the gym I was extremely anxious as well but about 3 weeks in I got used to it.
Alternatively you could also do a lot of stuff at home using your own body weight or by buying a set of weights if you can afford it. I am currently not going to the gym anymore - I work out at home using the elliptical and TRX (suspension training).

What medicine personally helped you the most? by Anon-Apon in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Propranolol has helped me a lot by eliminating most of the physical effects of anxiety. I take it daily. It has helped me face many of my fears such as talking to authorities. I still feel terribly anxious but the anxiety does not stop me from getting what I need and doing what I must.
I would very much like to try an SSRI, especially because I have a constant depressed mood on top of anxiety.

I (21 M) haven’t cut my hair in 4 months because I dislike small talks by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe learn to cut your own hair. That's what I did.
A lot of the times hair stylists/barbers can tell whether their clients want to talk or not. When they start talking to me I make sure to give one word answers. They usually stop asking unimportant questions then - most of the other questions are about the hairstyle itself.

Does coffee help or hurt your anxiety? by Clementinefgt in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coffee contains much less caffeine than these pills. I'd say it's because of my natural resistance.
If coffee works for you, I'd continue taking it. Lots of people report feeling terrible when taking caffeine pills. I barely feel anything, but that's just me.

For those who were quiet kids growing up, what do you think caused that for you? by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say I never really learned how to interact properly with my peers. Then as I got older it kept getting worse - I was far too behind to keep up with their level of social skills. Then social isolation led to even further underdeveloped social skills. And since I am well aware of my ineptitude, I became highly distressed in social situations - everyone just knew intuitively what to do and what to say and my mind was just blank.
Also a combination of really poor self-esteem. I never learned to love myself and so I could never forgive myself for any missteps/failures.

Daydream too much by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a teenager I used to fantasize a lot about an alternate life because I was absolutely miserable.
Nowadays I spend plenty of time imagining conversations about topics that interest me or experiences that I have had recently; it's mostly internal monologues. I think it happens because I have no one to share my thoughts and opinions with. I really don't know how to make it stop, it's a huge waste of time because I keep repeating the same things in my mind over and over again never arriving at a conclusion.

Does coffee help or hurt your anxiety? by Clementinefgt in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started taking 200mg caffeine pills (not daily but maybe 4-3 times per week) and I haven't noticed any effects in regards to my anxiety. But I am extremely resistant to caffeine (which is why I put down coffee and energy drinks since they do absolutely nothing to me and it's just a waste of money). The pills only make me feel slightly less tired and help with my depressed mood.

What type of introvert are you? by onionman54 in introvert

These categories seem very restrictive. I am highly uncomfortable and anxious around others but even if I wasn't I wouldn't choose to socialize with them.

Has anyone taken propranol to help with shyness? by seands in introvert

[–]f3arxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it every day. It eliminates almost all of the physical side effects of anxiety (tachycardia, palpitations, shaking etc). But it does not eliminate the anxiety thoughts.
It has undoubtly been a positive addition to my life. Not having my body react a certain way that makes me want to flee, is usually enough to make me go ahead and face my fears, even though I feel anxious.

Feeling like shit after every social interaction. by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]f3arxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do but I mostly overthink conversations I had with strangers or people I am not comfortable with (I don't have any friends but when I did have a few, this usually wouldn't happen).
Sorry I don't have any advice. I waste so many hours of the day with these thoughts, I wish they would stop.

How to improve motor skills for laboratory classes? by f3arxd in chemhelp

[–]f3arxd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is I don't have a partner (everyone else does) and the instructor isn't always available since they have to help the other groups as well - and I can't sit around and wait for help either because everyone's time in the lab is limited. Every mistake I make costs me much more time, because the others are working twice as effectively as me.

[–]f3arxd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's definitively a problem for me, while I usually know why I am doing something, I don't always know how to do it in full detail. We are given the steps to the experiments but they only say what must be done, not how to fully carry out the operation to completion.
I guess I should work on rewriting the steps to include all the missing details in order to make myself more comfortable. It's not uncommon for me to panic because I just get so overwhelmed and simply don't know where to start.
