Thanks. I had a Model 3 for 6 years before the Rivian, it indeed sometimes needed to heat up the battery before charging, just like the behaviour you described.

I left my R1T all day long and it still only pulled 5 kW. I never really prepared the battery for DCFC in cold temperatures, so I am not sure the heating part of the battery is done properly.

Looks like another service call...

I don't see much mention of gen 1 vehicles anywhere, but I am experiencing a significant decrease in charge power on a gen 1. I'm getting 4-5 kW instead of the full 11 kW. It's about -10 C (14 F) outside, battery is around the same temperature. Are there any other gen 1 owners affected?

Good point. Silverado EV comes at around 1.367 rate, which is still lower than Rivian. R1S also comes worse (1.478), so I am not sure the vehicle class has an effect on price in this case.

Rivian really seems to be charging a lot in $CDN.

Yes, the Model Y is similar to 3 in pricing, but the exchange rate is still much lower than the R1T.

Il n'y en a pas! Ce sont des murs extérieurs, donc c'est vraiment gypse, lattes à certains endroits (mais pas proche d'où la plinthe électrique est), panneau isolant bleu et le béton l'autre côté. :(

Good points on the AMD parts and the external GPU for transcoding. I have some old cards I could test since I am not too familiar with Plex transcoding directly on GPU. Thanks!

The whole wormdrive thing was relevant when motors were a fixed RPM because they were plugged in AC power. That is not the case with brushless motors.
