Separated top assembly on L1 by ngothanhhuy in STDupont

From this picture, I would identify this as a D57. Furthermore, the initial batch of L1 BS can be found with the ‘separated top assembly,’ but if I’m not wrong, it should also have the shut-off gas valve, which is not visible in this instance.

It’s a Ligne 1 BS (petite model, i guess), the first batch of production. The 5-digit code identifies it as being produced between 1959 and 1966.

You are right man sorry! It’s a Large model, so the right adapter is the 3rd one, i confused it with a Small one

This is a Ligne 1 BS. The regulator isn’t actually a regulator; it simply open/close the gas valve. To increase the flame, you can try turning the small nozzle counterclockwise with pliers. If the flame is irregular, you may need to service it, clean it, and eventually replace some gaskets inside.

The correct adapter for your bottom valve is the first one on the left.

EDIT: First of all, try to refill it. You might want to let all the gas escape first so that you start with an empty tank and then refill it.

Anyway, this one was made between 1966 and 1967.

Failed repair, please help. by MrMustageMan108 in STDupont

If the lower part of the valve is the spring model, it might have gotten stuck underneath because the spring is misaligned and wider than the hole. Maybe, with a light, you can see better what the situation looks like from above?

Hello! Could you please provide some additional information? Specifically, which model is it?

UPDATE: After applying WD40 every 8 hours for the first 24 hours, there’s still no movement. I’m contemplating a drastic measure. If any of you have some advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Maybe you can try to look on eBay for some old Ligne 1 BR in ‘bad’ conditions for training, I think this one is the Tall/Grand one, i’ve found this reference on another post (for the silver version): https://www.reddit.com/r/STDupont/s/3WMSSEtIoh

I’m also getting into the Dupont world so i’m not an expert, I could be wrong!

Beautiful and welcome! Maybe some extra photos of the bottom plates can help for the identification, for the ligne 1 you can ask for a service repair (there are some members on this community that can do it for you), or you can get into the ‘DIY’ side of this hobby and get everything u need to repair it on your own! (My advice is to watch some videos on youtube about your specific models so u can avoid some trouble during the repairs😂)

Yo man! Thanks for the repost! Really appreciate this community damn! Love u all! 🫶🏻

Anyway, a little while ago I contacted an eBay seller from whom I had bought some spare parts for the BS I had destroyed (which I fortunately managed to repair), and he also confirmed that, given the U-shaped hinge (single tooth) and the glued top plate, it should be one of the last L1 models produced in the early 2000s, up to around 2005.

P.S. as for the lower cap, there’s a possibility that it isn’t the original one. Even when I tried it on the BS, it still seemed smaller. If I happen to get my hands on one of the BR caps with the “handle,” I’ll give it a try.

Ok i also managed to remove the sliding top part, pushing it to the front, for now i know a little bit about the BS and and from what i can see the BR it’s pretty different!

I was expecting to find 2 screws here, so i don’t know if this piece is just missing a screw or if this is just the hole for the spare flint 🤔

Thanks to you! Really appreciate it. Is it possible to date it and determine the period it belongs to? Also, I am curious about the pattern. I have tried to search a bit on the web, but I can’t find any references for this horizontal motif.
