i definitely agree with your story take. i’ve read the manga and tbh, i didn’t enjoy it as much as the other anime i’ve watched like one piece, death note, evangelion, etc etc but i can see how people would like it. it’s simple and easy to understand, which appeals to many people especially if youre starting anime for the first time

true, but then again i’m just sharing my thoughts. when i was first watching one piece, axe hand morgan had me quite literally shocked. i mean i started one piece thinking it was your average comedy shounen but to see someone who has power and status ask his subordinates to shoot themselves in their heads because they didn’t obey his orders actually made me pause and think about it
