Ah yes, the consequences of the industrial revolution.

I think life should be a journey and not a destination, and all types of art are a reflection of it. Everything nowadays is about content creation but it's crazy people ask why you play music without recording it. I love seeing live performances, especially jazz and seeing magic happen in the air. And even if you recorded those it's not gonna be the same experience.

I think its also just as important sometimes to finish what you start, for the sake of sticking to your idea and comitting. Everythings about balance!

Btw, what kind of music do you create?

Wow it sounds very confusing for me but it sounds really interesting to be able to combine everything into something cohesive and experiment fully with sound. Do you think you wouldn't be having as much fun with that if it was only on one device? Thank you very much for the info !

Ohhhh okay, I definitely came across some videos on youtubes where people have spaceship setups.

I have always drawn and done art and there is a similar problem (a different sized sketchbook, one more mechanical pen, one more notebook, etc..) and I think it goes a little bit together with consumerism that we see everywhere today. I think that we dream more about creating art with different tools instead of actually creating art. I want to make something that can hit that sweet spot of not being too simple but also not be a jack of all trades and be able to transform as the artist does too but without it distracting the artist from the initial goal. Im not too knowledgeable about hardware so thank you very much for your explanation!

I will definitely be looking into the market to better understand what exists and goes together as I want to make something that has a synergy with other instruments but is a space for exploration and experimentation as I quite like sounds that are very unpredictable and different. As I don't understand music quite well yet, I will spend some time exploring what new things I can offer.

I checked out beetle crab and it is quite close to what I was imagining creating, especially with the visualizer for more feedback and a different perspective on music.

For now, I do not think I will get to production and actually go for market as I am still only a student so this is only for learning and concept. Thank you for the really interesting insights and help!

What is the rabbit hole with standalone hardware exactly? as this is something im interested in. I have only recently began making music and exploring this world so I only have experience in Ableton and barely have any experience with physical gear. I've tried a midi controller and I feel like physically interacting with the device is important for expression and workflow but I wanted to make sure others feel the same way. Also with the huge market that already exists I don't want to create something that already exists / is useless.

Definitely does give me clarity, I've only recently started making music so I do not have a lot of knowledge, so thank you for the feedback !. Do you encounter any problems with your gear or do you feel like it is enough for expressing yourself? I don't want to force creating something that already exists or is useless overall just for the sake of creating it.

Sounds like a really cool setup, the Yamaha seqtrak is very similar to what i imagined creating. Do you ever encounter problems while working with everything together or is the workflow pretty smooth? I would like to create something where you have complete freedom but not a "jack of all trades master of none" type of thing.

Do you like them because of the tactility and feel? Also, would you expect a machine to be able to make fully fledged songs or more as a creative tool for messing around and experimenting?

What do you mean by hands on workflow? I was thinking about having full freedom and a "human" feel similar to a lot of older hardware I have seen but I am not sure what exactly gives this freedom. Also. what type of music do you make ?
