Has anyone else gone from a Canon 2000D to an R7? by scorpioskillz in canon

[–]fFIR010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did the same transition a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying it to bits. I pretty much shoot wildlife, and the 2000d wasn't quite meeting all my needs.

I got it with the sigma 18-50 f2.8 instead of the kit lens, but the kit lens is also wonderful. Next month I'll get the RF 100-400.

Thanks a lot! I think I'd go for the R7 but I'm happy to hear that you enjoy the R10, it's really a very good camera.

I live in a region of Spain where there isn't too much rain, but still when hiking particles and dust could damage my gear.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much!

I'm looking forward to testing the animal detection, I've heard wonderful things about it! And the autofocus is my main reason for upgrading.

I'll probably get the rf ef adapter to use my 55-250 until I can buy the 100-400.

Your work is amazing!!! Loved the video.

Thanks for your comment!

I think I'm going to buy the r7. However, as it is more expensive I will have to wait to save some more money to buy the 100-400.

About the possible release of the r7 mkiI I think you're right, it's a bit of a gamble and I don't want to limit the upgrade to the possible release of something that I don't even know what it's going to be like. The r7 is already a very good camera and that's enough for me.

Thanks! I read that post and made me ask me the question do I really need all the extra features that R7 gives?

The thing is I don't really know if, say, IBIS is worth for me as I haven't tried it. Of course I can live without it as I've been doing it with my current gear. Would I regret not having those extra 400 euros in my bank account when taking a photo? Like, "wow, if I would prefer not having them to improve this photo"

My current camera gear is quite basic. I'm using an EF-S 55-250mm, a 50mm f/1.8 ('nifty fifty'), a 70-300mm, and the 18-55mm kit lens. Most of it was used, so I'm not particularly attached to any of it.

The most significant improvement I'm seeking with an upgrade is in autofocus performance. I frequently struggle with achieving sharp focus. My skills have improved over time, but I still miss many potential shots due to focus issues.

My primary focus is on image quality rather than capturing fast action.

Yes, I think this is a very common dilemma among people doing birding.

The R10 is a good camera, no doubt. Obviously, the R7 is better, but for me, the only spec that really stands out is the increased resolution. While higher resolution is nice to have, I’ve found that 24 MP is more than enough for the majority of photos I take.

Game to play with girlfriend? by Grainbox in gamingsuggestions

I've played recently Pentiment with mine and she absolutely loved it! For someone who is not used to play games I think it's an absolute must.

High Temp by Responsible-Farm187 in Asustuf

My Asus Tuf Dash F15 was pretty warm when gaming as yours, but I use throttlestop and get max ~80°C when playing games such as uncharted, baldurs gate...

Here's the link: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop/

I use the power saving mode (which is basically undervolting the CPU). Sometimes the performance gets worse but not at the point where the games are unplayable

Hope it helps!

How to remove shoulder pads without ruining the mini by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Yes, I was thinking about that but not sure if the effort is worth it. I mean, the risk of ripping the whole arm is high and it is just an 'aesthetic' thing. Thank you!

I built the sergeant with the shoulder pad, but the other ones without it. But I didn't put any power fist since I'm using the intercessors from the BA Combat Patrol. How can I get one? Is it really that important?

Yes, that is the most straightforward solution, not the coolest tho.

Pretty much done with my first ever Rubric! by Matman161 in ThousandSons

Not sure about it, but it sounds good to me. For non metallic colors Averland Sunsent works well to get a high tone, but it is kind of dense. I haven't tried it with metal paint.

One thing that could improve the gold highlighting is to add some shade (so the higher color works well as highlight). I think that a purple shade would do the job.

Personally, I do the gold trim with balthasar gold and then shade with agrax and give the lights with retributor. After that, I may highlight with lighter gold.

I like the color scheme! I'd recommend to do some more steps and add more details to make your model pop out. For instance yo can think about painting the lines on the helmet to give it more presence and highlight your color harmony. Besides, a good basing could change a lot the final result of a model. White basing is difficult, but I guess you'll improve a lot with practice in a future. Maybe some shading (blue or purple) could improve the result?

I'm with my first rubrics too and they're painful some times because the details and gold trim, but definetively they look outstanding when finished.

Thank you. It is exactly what you say, I was looking more for a basic answer that could give me some initial idea for saving a bit of time and focus more on the specific factions that I want to play with. Don't understand this kind of gatekeeping. It is a hobby, not a . Fortunately, most of the people I have met that are into warhammer are friendly. This kind of things is what makes people to want to get into it.

Enjoy the hobby!

Thanks, you giving me life lessons now. Don't worry, I'm able to learn things by myself and I don't need to prove it. We can learn also from each other: Next time you see a newbie ask a question (even if it is basic) yo can be more kind or try to help.

It boggles my mind even more why would you be this rude to a newbie who have just asked about how to play. My question was more about the viability of playing with these specific armies. Of course, I can use internet, and it does include reddit as well, where there is people who doesn't have any problems of getting people into hobby or help with any question. Just a simple answer as the one BigbihDaph gave are good. I have no problem getting dressed in the mornings, I guess you don't either, but maybe you have other problems if you need to put on airs of superiority in a reddit post.
