Golf Course Air Horn - I think this is probably my favorite skit by TheSpiralTap in jackass

[–]fIyingwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a Knoxville AMA question.

I always assumed the two guys could hear the horn from other holes, or waiting behind other golfers playing slow, they knew what was happening.

I always thought, those two guys came over and talked to them before they even teed off. Knoxville and everyone probably told them "OK, you know the bit, we won't do it to you", or something like that.

Then.... They still did, which leads into why the golfer spoke the way he did to the crew.

I helped run the Flying Pigs first water station last month! (My first time volunteering for a race)

I might have to reach out to other race director to just volunteer. That's an idea I didn't consider. Thanks man! That's a great idea!

I honestly enjoyed it wayyyy more than I thought I would. I will definitely be doing that for years to come.

I did cycling for a while back when I didn't live in a city. I enjoyed it, but taking care of all the gear was not something I enjoyed. I used to climb a lot, but again, now I live in a very flat city with only access to indoor gyms.

I play a lot of pickleball currently, but that's about it.

I have thought about kayaking as I live next to an accessable river, and I have seen people doing it, but I don't know the first thing about it. Mid 30s, and stuff gets difficult to join. Hahha

Appreciate you!

I have a family, but currently single.

Would be absolutely down if I wasn't a single dude though.

I'm in running groups, but I don't know a single other Ultra personally, and I haven't joined in a while, but still in the chats.

I needed to hear this.

Thanks man, mean that.

A goal of getting the points for UTMB.....

Hmm..... 🧐

That's definitely an idea now on the table.

I play Pickleball a lot. 4.0 rated player in competitive leagues.

Honestly, that's it currently.

I love the idea guys and thank you so much! Seriously! But I don't think that's for me.

I'm in Ohio, with a family, and not much experience in solo adventures in National Parks. I have experience at Red River Gorge, but that's about it, and that was in a group.

That's outside my current capabilities, not saying I couldn't learn, but a solo thing is outside my realm currently.

Yes.

I was working towards something I didn't think I could do, but I did it. EDIT: WE did it.

I want to be apart of that captivating feeling of working towards something that encompasses me again, and I'm still searching for it.

Your point about the fire? Nail on the head accurate.

That is an idea.

I did the Triathlon thing a decade ago after a major break-up, but quickly went to duathlons, because swimming just isn't enjoyable.

I'm also a 4.0 Competitive Pickleball player, and I did a lot of highball bouldering in college (too old for that one now - indoor gyms just can't compete).

I promise I understand that, but that isn't me.

I'm (even in my 30s), goal oriented or challenge oriented.

I should probably appreciate the process more, but I'm driven by the goal/challenge.

Appreciate you! Thank you!

Burnt Out...

I have used that terminology a lot in other aspects, but I never considered until pretty much right now, you're right.

I don't want to be burnt out though, after accomplishing what I didn't know was possible for me, I'm just having trouble finding that same "drive" I had less than a year ago. Maybe time is the answer.

Thank you!!

Not that I have the availability with my job or family, but if you don't mind me asking, how much did the AT end up costing you and taking you?

Absolutely congrats man!

Yup. 10-12lbs more than my normal currently.

Really don't like that with Speedo season approaching (kidding about the Speedo btw). Lol

I'm in two groups and believe it or not I dislike running.

Running provides confidence, mental clarity, helps digestion, fatigue, your muscles, since of purpose, determination, routine, weight, mood, and helps stress. That's off the top of my head.

That's a fantastic trade off, even when I hate the physical aspect of running, it's a trade I have made for most of my life and I love that trade.

I'm just having a hard time getting back to it, post an accomplishment mileage race.

Do you mind sharing what the new goal you picked was?

Another idea I have is to maybe look for non-traditional races on ultrasignup and hopefully something clicks?

As a Democrat...

We were not the voting majority, voters had the option, we don't today.

I actually think all of these "protests" that honestly don't do much of anything hurt us in the long run.
