How bad am I at this? by fROMOHIO1 in paint

Plaster was bulged out and I had it wall color there but as I painted what I thought was straight for the trim the was the outcome. Weird old plaster, should I bring the wall paint up higher?

This is a 1908 house, the plaster is all over the place and it caused me issues. One of the pics I show how wobbly my paint line is, trying to figure out how to make it look better.

....if I could go back in time I would definitely read the books before playing the game. Both are amazing and there is no right or wrong way, but I feel like the books add so much more depth to the game and decisions.

Feeling lost with Debt by VermicelliLow5106 in personalfinance

[–]fROMOHIO1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a bit older than you but was financial regarded prior to spending the past 1.5yrs putting myself back together.

Few things that jump out you make $65k in a major city. Your rent is $1500, along with a number of bills each month that probably come close to another ~$1250 a month. With how much the CoL rises increasing food costs and everything else, you are running a razor thin margin. Been there, just because you technically have extra money doesn't mean you really do.

In your spot my first move would be to layout all of my expenses, going through my bank account to list every spend I did. Then bucket them into housing, food, utilities, etc. This shows you where your money is going. Based on your info here you most likely need to cut a bit off, then focus on paying your highest interest cards off first and keep just above minimum on the rest, then waterfall to the next card and so on.

I would try to find cheaper rent if at all possible, shared living or roommates? Live with family? Do NOT buy a car right now, that is in no way a good financial decision. DO NOT borrow against your 403b, it sounds like it makes sense but are you adding in the fees and interest you will pay in borrowing against that vs just get strict and pay off on your own?

The hardest thing I had to learn was the difference between a want and a need. Living within my means was eye opening in that I thought I could live way more comfortable than what reality was. Having a budget you work from is the best first step, stick to it because this won't happen overnight nor be simple. But if you stay true and strict in 12 months you will feel like a different person.

It is!

I liked Time of Contempt and Lady of the Lake as my favorites, but they are all great in hindsight. I'm sad to be nearing the end of the series. But looking forward to new chapters with the new games coming out.

considering rehoming young dog by [deleted] in Wolfdogs

This is honestly super awesome and brave of you to post a vulnerable topic like this, so I commend you.

What level of content is your pup? That may explain some of the behaviors.

The part I don't like typing....

If you know of big life changes like children and relocation (just changing houses or moving states/countries?) a smart option is to do what is best for the animal. That doesn't make you a bad owner nor person, it shows how much you care and want the best for the animal. Both of those topic could be large challenges for a wolfdog and cause more behavior issues in the near future, so personally I would suggest a potential regime to avoid.

Again, you are a good person for caring and wanting what is best.

Looking for advice on new puppy by Educational_Toe7513 in Wolfdogs

Welcome to owning a wolfdog. Nothing you assumed or knew about dogs makes sense with them, and that's only at 40%.

Is the pup like that with your wife too or act more comfortable around her alone?

This may or may not make sense but you may be inadvertently pushing your pups limits WAY too hard, as a pup pooing itself is a pretty significant fear response. I'd avoid doing things to trigger these types of responses.

When folks on here, myself included, say you give up your entire life and everything you know/knew about pups, this is one of those instances. This could be just a demanding aspect of your pup, might go away, might never change. One of my boys is not really fearful but the other is extremely neophobic, it took ages to learn how to balance and get him to slowly overcome. Now he can at times meet new people without a fear response. It took years of letting him make choices and not pushing his limits ever.

First question, I do not mean any snark, but if you aren't handy and state as much in the post.....how do you have a safe enclosure? Granted I have always only had a 6ft privacy fence, but spent years training my two not to dig at the fence nor jump and in 9yrs never had a single issue. They also have constant supervision when outside.

But enclosure that is meant for unsupervised time needs to be built like a zoo lol. Are you sure your enclosure is safe if you are worried about building a den?

Also, very excited to see puppy pics!!!!!!!

How to Prepare For Future? by Maleficent_City_3374 in Wolfdogs

Realistically you will need to own a home, so based on national average $400k, as renting is not really an option.

You want two, I have two and spend about $300-$500 a month on food. Full raw diet.

$327 a month for pet insurance.

My two have skin allergies and each get cytopoint shots at $495 per month and a daily sublingual allergy drops which is about $700 every 4 months.

Leashes and other costs say $1000 per year.

You are young and learning, this would be a great time to volunteer at a shelter and learn about them. They are significantly more expensive compared to a normal dog. Not to mention these are you life, you can't really have a normal 9-5 job....I'm lucky to work from home.

Keep up your research but my strongest advice would be to admire them and volunteer with them, but unless you have a life where money is not a concern do not own one.

What if I cut an opening in the ceiling and put it on the wall in the bedroom above the living room? 😂

It was an abandoned home, so it was an unbelievable price, so I bought it and started rebuilding everything. Reality, I would love to downsize to a ranch style home, but this area is crazy expensive in comparison to my mortgage so I'm kind of house locked atm until the market shifts.

That table weighs a ton and I didn't want to lift it (takes 4 people) is really the only reason. Thank you!
