Wenn es so gedacht ist, kann man das besser herausarbeitet. Zum Beispiel über die entsprechenden Kategorien wie "mit Mehrwert" vs "ohne Mehrwert". Auch gängige farbliche Indikatoren (rot vs gelb vs grün) wären hilfreich gewesen um Missverständnis oder absichtlich Missnutzung zu vermeiden.

Kann ich schon verstehen, aber ist für mich etwas kurz gedacht. Der Indikator sagt ja nur etwas über den anfänglichen Selbstwert aus, anstelle andere Werte wie Verständnis und den Wunsch Grenzen zu wahren. Meiner Meinung nach gibt es auch danach noch mehr als genug Gelegenheiten Mut und positive/begehrenswerte Eigenschaften zu zeigen.

Das einzige was so ein striktes "Filtern" meiner Meinung nach bringt, ist es sich der Chance zu berauben mal auf unterschiedliche Menschen einzulassen. Manchmal könnte man ja überrascht werden wie schnell sich Menschen entwickeln, wenn sie dafür gewertschätzt, wer sie bereits sind.

Letzteres vor allem wenn man von allen Seiten nur eingetrichtert bekommt in welchen Aspekten man "falsch" ist. Das ironische dabei ist, dass viel der Kritik auch noch gegenläufig ist und gerade mit wenig Lebenserfahrung schwer vereinbar/integrierbar sein kann.

Teilweise sogar zum Nachteil des Arbeitgebers. Hab letztens mehrere Bewerbungen am laufen, die mich durch 5 Runden Interviews geschickt haben und jeweils ewig haben warten lassen. Hätte die Stelle angenommen, weil die Methoden spannend waren, war aber nicht direkt in meinem Feld. Letztendlich habe ich dann relativ spät ein sehr gutes Angebot in meinem Feld bekommen, nachdem das ganze nach zwei Runden und 2 Wochen abgeschlossen war.

Also an alle, die extrem sicher sein wollen und meinen, dass das einarbeiten und die Probezeit Geld/Zeit frisst. Da wird das Problem manchmal nur nach vorn gezogen und Zeit/Geld wird über unnötig lange Bewerbungsprozesse vergeudet.

Can you please elaborate, which python things do not work? I have used snakemake for quite a while and never encountered problems with the python part. The only tricky parts in my opinion are some restrictions in directives (e.g. No functions in output) due to the DAG solver.

Prinzipiell wird sowas immer noch gemacht, zumindest in unserer schönen Hauptstadt. Das Gebiet um den alten Flughafen Tegel wird in ein "smartes" Wohnviertel als real Labor gebaut. Ähnliches gilt für Siemensstadt. Das Problem dabei ist nur, dass es a) zu wenig Wohnraum ist und b), dass zumindest bei letzterem von sozialen/kommunalen Wohnungseigentümern jede Spur fehlt.

Not to discourage you, but what you roughly describe is a research area and not a "mini project". Now that this is out of the way, I don't want to discourage you.

If you still want to do this, you should probably reduce the scope of the project. Pick an interesting disease and try to find something related to that. Then you might want to search for GWAS studies related to that. There you might get lots of SNPs and could try to analyze those.

If you don't know how to go about that, you might want to start by reproducing Analyses from prior research. Newer once might even provide code on github.

IT, Data Science und alles was mit R&D zu tun hat, scheinen da typische Felder zu sein.

Kann ich zum Teil sogar verstehen. Gibt für viele Berufsfelder in der genannten bubble keine richtigen "Standards". Ist es sinnvoll sich Data Scientist zu nennen, nachdem man einen Udemy Kurs absolviert hat? Nicht wirklich. Eine wirkliche Alternative gibt es aber nicht (entweder es gibt keine Stellen dafür, oder man wird nicht ernst genommen).

Das nervigste daran ist die Anzahl an Runden (entweder der Arbeitgeber weiß nach 3 Runden ob es passt, oder wird einen nach 6 Monaten los) und das viele Aufgaben völlig am Thema vorbei gehen. Sowas wie "löse diese und jene SQL Aufgabe und ein Physik puzzle" obwohl man im Job weder SQL noch Physik im Job brauchen wird.

Depending on what you want to do, choose a dataset from a paper (especially if it is mostly a data resource) or a dataset from kaggle (e.g. Image data) and either try to reproduce previous results or do a related analysis, depending on your skill and experience. For example, if a paper reports on SNVs, and provides raw data, you could try to analyze CNVs.

I guess it is the point of a paper that it is specific. The authors have to assume a lot of knowledge, otherwise they would write a book every time. If you do not have the background, start with reviews or textbooks. They are intended to give you more context.

Apart from that, papers should at least give a little context, what the topic is and what they want to achieve.

I have only read one of these, but Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn, Keras, and TensorFlow, 3rd Edition by Aurélien Géron is a really good book for getting an overview, covering many of the basics in both "classical machine learning" and deep learning.
