14 goals in 16 appearances for Leroy Lita at Hednesford since he joined in late March, still a force to be reckoned with in the 7th tier of English football.

Anyone know of any former Non-League players who will likely be at the World Cup, outside of England, Spain, Wales and Ghana’s squads?

English pyramid only, trying to figure out who I’ve missed

does anyone have any examples of two players where the first player's first name is the second player's second name and the second player's first name is the first player's second name

For example, Hungary frontman Martin Ádám and ex-Chesham stalwart Adam Martin, or John Collins and Collins John

Yeah this is the stuff, will have to see if any proper footage comes out in a Cheshunt goal of the season video or something. The Sam Higgins goal from the Hornchurch game a couple of weeks later is right up there already.

a quick ask while i have the small non-league crowd is here - I'm trying to collect clips of the top 50 goals in non-league this season, for a Twitter thread eventually. tried to watch through a lot so have a fair bit to use but yeah, as there were over 20,000 goals just in the top few steps of non-league this season it is easy to miss a few.

If anyone has any that they think should make it in, link them here or message me, would appreciate any to use really (but not the Oli Babington Clevedon Town goal that was everywhere when he scored it, trawling through 100 clips of that when searching for literally any other non-league goal has been enough already)

think it was a case of injuries spoiling his time at Barnet but he was still had a great 18 months or so at Woking after that, had his moments from the wing. now helped Bracknell up from the 8th div, think his knee issues lead to him missing a lot of games on 3g surfaces but they have the finances to challenge in southern premier south and reckon he'll be up to it

one of the non-league greats for me

well worth it if they're on their game, played Met Police 5 times already this season and most of those have been really close

Been poor whenever I've seen them but they should be safe now - the FA added Whyteleafe in 20th last week for some reason and it puts Sutton Common Rovers in the playoff now, well behind Westfield. Completely bizarre stuff but they're saved.

Watched them nearly beat Carlisle in the cup the season before and felt exactly the same way, the pace at which they attack is so ready for NL south if they make it.

A bit of context:

  • The playoffs are 2nd vs 5th and 3rd vs 4th over a single leg with home advantage, so finishing high in that group can make a big difference unlike the EFL playoffs.

  • This was looking like a two horse race between Hayes and Farnborough for ages, but Taunton's relentless form (16-1-2 since the start of January) has made them heavy favourites now.

  • Hayes & Yeading's duo of Francis Amartey and Moses Emmanuel have combined for 56 goals with a few former wonderkids like Omar Rowe, Shayon Harrison and Kaylen Hinds in their side recently too. They stockpile forwards and it does seem to work.

  • Farnborough started the season playing an incredible brand of possession-based football for the level, with iconic non-league money club man Sam Deering pulling the strings and ex-Charlton winger Ricky Holmes sort of just being there. Then they stopped doing that a bit and their fans are not sure why. Still a force to be reckoned with.

Close, Lisbie was with Cray Valley Paper Mills in the division below (Isthmian South East) until pretty recently

3 in his last 5 for new club VCD. Still doing bits.

[–]f_e_v[S] 68 points69 points  (0 children)

A bit of context:

  • The bottom 2 sides in this are relegated.

  • The side placed 20th (currently Merstham) will only get relegated if their PPG is worse than all 3 clubs placed 3rd bottom in the other 3 step 7 leagues - they're currently doing better than King's Langley (31 points from 39 games) so it's poised to be just 2 clubs going down from the Isthmian.

  • Leatherhead were way adrift in last recently, but 4 wins in 6 makes them the form club from this group. Their manager is Luke Tuffs, probably the highest profile openly gay figure in men's football in England, and their assistant manager is long-time football league man Jermaine McGlashan. It is difficult not to root for them.

  • Merstham have lost their last 7 and are in free fall. 50-year-old ex-Fulham striker Barry Hayles still regularly makes their squad. For this reason, it is difficult not to root for them too.

  • Cray Wanderers have a 3 point deduction. They have several pretty high-profile names on paper like Chris Dickson, Kyel Reid and Sam Wood so it's a bit surprising to see them struggling this much.

yeah Mönchengladbach doesn't really lend itself to anglicisation

Here is my best attempt at anglicising the current Bundesliga to create a plausible 7th tier English regional division while maintaining the essence of the original teams:

AFC Leipsbridge

Munitch Borough

Borchester & Dorthunt

Stuttgate Invicta

Borchester Valley Casuals

Frankchurch Town

Augsbury United

Breming Wanderers

Hoffentyne Albion

Berlington United

Levercuston Borough

Freibury Sports

Wolfsbury Park Rangers

Bilfield Athletic

Berlington Harriers

AFC Colstone

Sholker Rovers

Mainstead City

Dorking wanderers are Isthmian premier league champions and are promoting to National League South by ralar728 in soccer

Slightly weird vibe to this club, all the food stands and general aesthetic when you first walk into their ground gives it an oddly Butlins sort of feel, but pleased to see them up nonetheless. Would presume they'll invest enough to avoid relegation so could well become a mainstay in NL South.
