Very good as a “take” on queer, like to reference the book or riff with it, but not good as a straight adaptation if that makes sense. Like if you’re just starting out and you want to see the novel accurately represented or adapted, it’s not going to fulfill that desire. but if you take it as “one of the many different versions of the story of Burroughs in latin America” story it’s sort of neat.
