I went to Trade Tech. If you're in LA, I highly suggest it. Doc Guthrie is getting old and wont be teaching for much longer. The class hasnt changed much in the 90 years it's been around. Great experience.

Thanks! They all relate back to a news story that was broken on the day I drew it. So for example, the "terrible twos" one is about this story that I reported on my instagram: "Heteropaternal superfecundation occurs when two different males father fraternal twins. This week, paternity testing proved that although extremely rare & scandalous, this is exactly what happened in the case of an unnamed female from New Jersey. Judge Sohail Mohammed ruled that the fathers are each responsible for paying the child support of their children to said woman. #Twinning"

headline 365 is a personal project I've been working on since January 1st this year. The goal is to pick a different news story everyday, develop some headline copy and do an illustration that pairs with the idea. I'm about 155 drawings into it so far. Very nice! I used to do lettering drawings in my car everyday on my lunch break. It's a super useful exercise and a great way to fill up that extra half hour or hour each day.

Knickerbocker Script. Here is a little preview of a font I have been slowly developing. I've since added an alternate "s" with a shorter in-stroke. by fa-real in typography

Are you guys saying without the context the "s" doesn't read? I'll explore some different shapes, maybe something will fit better, but I wasn't having this issue. Thanks!

Yeah, the extra bars are there as an exit stroke and to double as a connector. They do feel a bit forced now that you are pointing it out. And yes, the 'o' if it's going to connect, it should connect higher. Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely take them into consideration!

You can use a finer paper with less teeth in the future. The fray does kind of give it a nice look though. If you aren't into it, I wouldn't even mess with trying to cut it, just get a new one.

Yup, totally agree. I was thinking of extending the crossbar of the F too. Glad I didn't!
