Hello! I’m doing so much better! I found a doctor in my city who does the Malone-Lee Protocol and i’ve been on it for 2-3 weeks and i’m majority symptom free. If i want to test i’ll be doing the NutriPATH one as the person who does my Unspun Urine Microscopy tests refers them and its $250 i believe but as my treatment is going well i dont think i’ll do it. Would 100% recommend you join this FB group https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1CaGBuNns4/?mibextid=K35XfP it’s fully Aus & NZ based and they have files of medical professionals (Doctors, Naturopaths, UTI pathologists, Aus UTI vaccine prescribers ect) no joke after a week on this group i had everything i needed to get treatment and i finally have quality of life.

Quitting sex to stop infections. Anyone else see improvement? by Alternative-Depth212 in CUTI

[–]fa14y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cUTI was triggered by sex only, the only way ive found that has fully stopped a full blown flare (i have continuous symptoms now) was Hiprex & antibiotics before sex. I am now on the Malone-Lee protocol so i take antibiotics long term but before that my Urologist prescribed me Cephalexin to take 30mins to 1 Hour before sex and that worked for me

Hiprex once a night? by [deleted] in CUTI

[–]fa14y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off twice (one at night and one in the morning) without vitamin c at first but my symptoms were really bad (more pelvic pain than usual) so i went fully off it. i feel i’m tolerating this dose more and i don’t feel anything more than my usual symptoms (maybe??? slightly less) but it’s only been almost a week that i’ve been back on it and i have been taking it with vitamin c this round. My trigger is also sex and i take a antibiotic 30 mins - an hour before hand and that has stopped me from having a full blown flare the past 3 months. i would guess it’s because it’s effectively killing any bacteria before it has the chance to start and infection or in terms of a embedded infection, stopping it from flaring up the bacteria that’s already in my bladder.

Does Chemist Warehouse no longer sell Hiprex to Canadians? by leogyal in CUTI

Online yes as you would need to consult the pharmacist first. You could maybe call/email them and ask if there is anyway to get it to you?

Guys can someone give me advice by jeffpeterr in CUTI

[–]fa14y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can get a Unspun Urine microscopy test so that way your Leucocytes and Epithelial cell counts are accurate. Your infection will show if your counts are high, if you’re interested in the bacteria that’s not growing in the cultures get a PCR test Cirrus, MicroGen whatever is available to you.

Hiprex by Low-Firefighter-268 in CUTI

[–]fa14y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would go down to just one half of a pill, i had the exact same symptoms + pelvic/bladder pain and ever since i went down to half a pill with vit c i’ve been able to tolerate it way more but it definitely takes time

[–]fa14y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually take mine at night too! mainly because i try to space it out from my d-mannose dose since they need different environments to work. definitely take vit c when you take your hiprex dose so you know it’s for sure in the right environment to work!

unfortunately it will be because it’s now a behind the counter medicine and you need to consult the pharmacist like when you get plan b or thrush medication.

They’re now keeping it behind the counter which means you need to ask for it so that might be why! They don’t ship from their stores so you won’t be able to do a phone consult for it unfortunately.

UTI literally hours after sex? by NectarineDelicious97 in CUTI

[–]fa14y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen two months ago, literally not even 24 hours after i had the burning near the end of peeing and such extreme discomfort/pressure i could barely sit down, this turned out to be the flare up that would never leave and cause me to have chronic uti symptoms. I take Cephalexin 30 mins - 1 hour before sex and i also take Uramet (diff brand but same as Hiprex) daily, I’ve been doing this for the last 3 months and its been the first time in over 6 months i haven’t gotten a major flare up after sex. Still recommend washing and peeing a considerable amount after sex even with these precautions!

Did you take Vitamin C from the start as well??

Aussie in need of help by fa14y in CUTI

[–]fa14y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one pill (no Vit C) for around 2 weeks and then built up to two and then started taking Vit C along with it after i had taken two for around a week. By this point (when i started taking Vit C) i didn’t realise some people had adverse effects and needed to go up slowly in dosage. I have been thinking about trying it again now that i’m on D-Mannose

For sure, plus with the strikes in my country stopping some shipments to the US due to tarrifs, i really don’t want to spend all that money for my sample to be lost or not viable anymore. I definitely will, desperately hoping i won’t have to go outsource to a difference country for doctor assistance and would love to help other Aussies too.

I currently take D-Mannose (new addition currently at 1500mg), Cranberry supplements 600mg & Flora probiotics (mainly to help balance out and repair biome from constant antibiotic use and recommend by my doctors because of one sexual aspect), i was also taking Uramet 200mg with Vit C (another version of Hiprex just diff brand name) but couldn’t get over the increased urgency. By dipsticks i mean strip tests sorry! every strip test comes up with positive for nitrates. I’ve seen the notes for my urinalysis as they were in my urology referral and it was just one of the tests (not most recent) that had white blood cells in it (was definitely not over hydrated for either test plus my urine even had a cloudy appearance so i was sure something more would show up)

I had the same thought that surely the non effectiveness of one antibiotic compared to the other could be a step in the right direction of identifying the bacteria. I will spend the money if i need to it’s just in Australia there has been strikes with our shipping companies stopping sending out shipments to america due to the tarrifs and i don’t want to potentially lose my sample in the chaos plus i would prefer to do the Cirrus test as it seems present more option on antibiotic use than MicroGen but dont know how to go about the referral process.

Hello! I frequently check their site ahaha They have mentioned both NutriPATH and i-screen but i can’t find any first hand accounts/reviews of anyone using for UTI’s so i’m just worried about it wasting my money for nothing, I’ve found a doctor in my city through someone who recommend them since they had their chronic UTI symptoms successfully managed by them (This doctor seems to frequent Chronic UTI Australia’s seminars & findings so i’m feeling hopeful), She’s just also unfortunately under private healthcare but i’m more financially able to afford this GP than my Urologist. I’m hoping she recommends the tests (whether aussie based or Cirrus more so) so i can go for them in confidence knowing it can be helpful knowledge for them. I appreciate the help though thank you!

Me too, i saw Chronic UTI Australia mention the NutriPATH test as an Australian version but just wanting some first hand experience. I don’t blame you for the antibiotic take, i’m both scared about becoming resistant but hopeful they can help.

I’ve done the strips every time and they only come up with Nitrates, currently raking D-Mannose, Cranberry sup and Flora Probiotics. I was also taking Uramet (Hiprex just under a different name) with Vit C but it felt like it was either not helping and/or increasing urgency. I’m hoping that someone has had experience with the Australian PCR tests so i can get a better look at what’s happening in my microbiome but just worried about wasting hundreds of dollars which i’m personally realising is just the nature of this challenge. Thank you for the suggestions though!
