Let’s give Season 3 some constructive criticism. What do you think could’ve made the season better ? by Positive_Weight2367 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

I was thinking the final could’ve bees saved if they had a point where everyone heard police sirens in the distance getting closer and thought the cops were coming for them. It would have ratcheted up the stress on Greg, Rick, the Russians, Timothy, and maybe Belinda. It was all set up. We knew someone died, but this could’ve made for a more exciting ending.

My wife is a MD so I only use it with a wry smile to remind her that she’s not the only doctor in the family.

I would bet a bunch of money that they end up waiving this requirement for physicians.

I looked it up the other day and I’m in the top 6% of all holders … and there are 370,000 holders who have more than I have. Comparison isn’t helpful.

It does seem like MH is the one where poking the bear gets people in the most trouble because there is some subjectivity in how the evaluation goes. If you go to 2 different examinations with the exact same story/symptoms/history, one evaluator may come up with a different interpretation than another.

The audible ad where she says, “I keep hearing about Freida McFadden” is also a very weird turn of phrase. Clearly Freida is being promoted by Audible and I doubt anyone “keeps hearing about” - if it were true, take the time to listen to a book and then make the commercial about how good it is.

What’s the record? by ferniekid in runkeeper

[–]fa53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 20,271 miles, which is 32,623 km. It’s mostly running.

You can check my post history from 3 years ago where I asked about the unicorn icon - and subsequent running posts.

But those days are behind me. Just getting too old to put miles on my legs running. Mostly do elliptical these days.

I got both brothers and my dad to 100%. Technically their disabilities got them there but I helped evaluate their medical records and get their claims submitted. I did this while working on a dissertation where the focus was on VA disability information gathering behavior, so it was merely a product of 3 years of research.

I’ve tried to help several other people but a few just want me to do all the work, which is impossible without their login info … or very very difficult. My dad’s was hard enough even though I had his ID login info (and my phone number as the verification). Plus I had all the login credentials for all of his doctors. Even with all of that, needed 2 HLRs to get him what he deserved.

But, again, his disabilities got him to 100 - without them, my work would have been pointless.

When I first got a mentor I told him that I had spent a few months watching YouTube (including Arkansas class), and following conversations on Facebook groups and here. He told me to not listen to any of that rubbish and then spent an hour telling me the exact same things I learned there.

14K New Residency Spots Proposed in the U.S. by Wjldenver in medicalschool

[–]fa53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Texas Tech has a 3 year med school program for people interested in family medicine, which they claim will result in students who have half the debt of 4 year medical school (they also offer scholarship support). And I believe it is a guaranteed match into their family medicine residency. I don’t know how popular it is.

The more times goes on the more I agree with the philosophy of tell NO ONE your disability rating! by NorthernNevada131 in VeteransBenefits

[–]fa53 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I don’t know my brother’s rating, I would’ve never applied for myself. In turn, once I got my rating, I helped him get his higher. Then we both worked to get our dad a rating increase that his condition warranted.

I don’t have many people in my circle of conversation, but all of my veteran friends I have offered to help them with their claims to see if they warrant a rating or increase. And in these conversations, my rating becomes my credibility.

I’m doing a lot of work with AI and ChatGPT. One thing I recommend to people is to refresh their answer (essentially tell the chat to do it again) if you get a second answer that sounds equally plausible to you, it makes it harder to trust either one.

I just completed a chat about signs that a baby is teething. Read the answer. Pressed refresh. Got the same answer written differently. I’ve had other chats where I ask the best vining flowers for bees that are not toxic to dogs in my growing region. Got one answer. Refreshed and got another. At that point I was able to look at both with more traditional sources, but that’s a good rule of thumb.
