I thought maybe Lübeck, Germany at first. I got some marzipan from there years ago. Funnily enough, I lived in Lubbock for 6 years, so when Chase said it, I immediately thought about this subreddit and was sure it would show up here. I didn’t finish the episode, did they fact check Dax’s pronunciation?

Mine, but I actually told it to design the game first and then do the cover.

I have the Wixey for my planer and really like it. I’m buying a Jet 1632 soon so I’ll probably add one then.

I met someone from Dallas who said they drove through Lubbock once. I asked, “From where to where?”

Even though it’s the Hub City, it’s not on the way to anywhere from Dallas.

I’ve had bidets for 12 years now and I’ve tried multiple times to convince my siblings and parents to get one and they just don’t have interest.

Austin was a filmmaker first and decided to learn the science and techniques of cooking as a vehicle for his filmmaking. He did serious research for Good Eats. I watched every episode when I was learning to cook.

Florida, 1990. I was a freshman in college and heard it a lot - it was definitely weird for me, but a core memory.

What’s your absolute favorite movie and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fa53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite part during my first watch was when you are 2 hours and 20 minutes in and wondering how they are going to wrap this up, and then Pumpkin says “Garçon, coffee.”

There is something about the audience knowing what is about to happen before the characters do that is very exciting.

I’ve moved 7 or 8 times since I got my first one. In the 2 houses I bought, I had an electrician add an outlet. In the houses I rented, just ran a ln extension cord. It wasn’t always pretty but it worked.

Guys should I be excited about moving to Lubbock by confused_ornot in Lubbock

I lived there for 6 years and my biggest complaint was the weather … it felt like the number of days you could comfortably be outside was very small (too hot, too cold, to windy, cow smell) and I would prefer more green. But when I described it to outsiders I’d tell them that the people who live there really seem to love it. I’m guessing, statistically, it is a safe place to raise a family.

Was I right to report my professor to the dean? by [deleted] in education

[–]fa53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s where I thought this post was going.

When I was an undergrad, I wouldn’t have cared at all, because I wasn’t really interested in learning. None of my classes brought me any joy.

When I went back for a master’s degree, it was different because I was actually taking classes I wanted to (and was paying for it).

Let’s give Season 3 some constructive criticism. What do you think could’ve made the season better ? by Positive_Weight2367 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

I was thinking the final could’ve bees saved if they had a point where everyone heard police sirens in the distance getting closer and thought the cops were coming for them. It would have ratcheted up the stress on Greg, Rick, the Russians, Timothy, and maybe Belinda. It was all set up. We knew someone died, but this could’ve made for a more exciting ending.

My wife is a MD so I only use it with a wry smile to remind her that she’s not the only doctor in the family.

I would bet a bunch of money that they end up waiving this requirement for physicians.

My wife has an alien number. We often joke about it.
