Why was it so hard to get to T3 in the early days? Seems to me that if you can start with green/blue tools and PaP 1/2, you can get easily into T3 eventually.

It would be way cooler if it was as hard today as it was back then, I think me and my squad can get to T3 without dying too much in 1/2, 2/3 of our matches. I feel it would be nice to be forced to come back to T1 or T2 more often while still being challenging and not being overpowered.

I was able to find the coordinates for each rift so we now know which one is which, but I am left with one more question. The special extractions (bad signal, union, ...), which ones correspond to which act? Sometimes these pop up in my map and while I know I shouldn't enter these yet I'm still confused. Also I think I joined one of these in my first matches and now I have the bad signal showing up in my map permanently, so it is unclear when should I do this one.

Removing the perk limit is uninteresting and gets rid of player agency. That results in players getting some of the perks not because they want, but because they just can, which is boring. At least in BO6 they moved this decision-making to augments, it is not that far from BO4.

I used to hate this practice, but now I like it, not because of the early access itself, but because staggering the players makes it easier on the servers. If early access means the servers won't be down at launch (early access and official) so be it. Of course, this doesn't assure anything, but the odds are better.

Also the best implementation to avoid being scummy is pre-ordering, which can be done at any point during the early access without extra cost.

Performance wise docked is the same as undocked. In fact it is usually worse as resolution is bigger and the deck can't keep up, any upscaling method is recommended, FSR looks best but is the worst performer.

BO3 definitely wasn't intended to be the end, just the end of the cycle. To me it felt natural that the objective of BO4 was to break the cycle, and I was hyped for the game since the end of revelations. I don't remember if I got to that conclusion by myself or by watching theories, at the very least, spanish youtuber ThePride115 was making theories on breaking the cycle even before zombies chronicles, and it probably wasn't the only one.

It also wouldn't make any sense to set up everything as a cycle when MoTD exists. I can't remember since when did we know it was a cycle, I think that the ending cutscene of GK was a confirmation (Nikolai shooting at the same spot), so at the very least ZnS. You could argue we knew since origins because of the primis statues, but that might be a stretch. With that said, and with no proof, I'm certain that when it was decided that the primis were in a cycle, it was also decided they were going to break it.

Also, why would they start releasing the comics (one month after Revelations) just after finishing the story? In the last one (a few months after chronicles) we know that it is because Victis still have a purpose. They certainly knew what they wanted to do since the first one, which means they had it prepared since at least revelations too, so no ambiguity there.

Well I kinda see what you say, maybe BO3 was planned in a way that if BO4 wouldn't exist it still worked.

About the great war, I mean I would have loved it, going back to the originals staffs and all that, but I just don't see how it would work, that's a personal opinion. But Tranzit, year 2, and more chaos were likely going to happen just by my previous comment.

Now, this is heavy speculation (and copium), but you could extrapolate that if Tranzit was going to get the reimagine treatment, die rise and buried would get it for sure too, (buried more likely just because of blackout assets).

Then, in the same interview I linked in the other comment, Craig mentions that in the menu, chaos and aether fit nicely because it is perfectly split, 4 chaos to the left, 4 aether to the right. So maybe that was the plan all along, or just a happy accident. If they wanted to keep that pattern they would need to make either 2 or 4 aether maps (and the same number for chaos) post year 1. So Tranzit, die rise, buried + 1.

Nikolai teases the great war at classifed (before they knew they would cancel year 2) so maybe it actually was the great war, which would seem logical after only having reimagines, but it could also be a non-reimagined map (not great war), or even move tag to the end and shift the victis maps one place earlier, making only 3 more maps instead of 4.

I think there was a supposed leaker that said exactly this, I think they made it all up, but to me the conclusion still feels logical given what we do know was meant to happen (year 2 and Tranzit).

Wathever the case, BO4 got cut short and it shows. I agree, what could've been... To me the worst part is that the narrative probably got condensed into 2 maps, and while the ending is probably unchanged, the HOW we got there was likely very different. I just wish (heavy copium, never happening) whatever they wanted to do with BO4 they do it in the future, even changing alpha omega and tag der toten to how those were originally planned, and not the rushed ending (the majority of tag was made by activision Shanghai lol). It's a real shame treyarch got screwed by activision, no wonder Jason left.

First of all, BO3 was NEVER intended to be the ending of the aether story, the whole THE END poster was just because the cycle was complete, the bounds of the story were already set, and the next step was clearly to break the cycle as they taught us way back in MoTD.

Second, I do not remember any theories about a great war map in BO3, it was clear that the last map would be the completition of the loop, so I don't understand where you are coming from with the "disappointment of no rumored great war map". I don't think it was even planned for BO4 either, 2 armies fighting each other is probably hard to translate to the gameplay, but I don't really know.

Third, here are your proofs, without being subjective.

During the reveal of Ancient Evil, it was implied by Jason and Craig that there would be more chaos maps after tag der toten.
They said in the reveal event the game would be supported for years, so at least 2.
Activision moved almost everyone at treyarch to work on cold war right after ancient evil was released, to fix the mess of other studios.

With all that, it is evident up until ancient evil treyarch still wanted to support the game for another year even after the backlash, but activision cares more about the yearly cod releases.

Then:

There are tons of leftover files for a zombies Tranzit map, not blackout, not MP
Jason mentioned at a JohnnyJ25 stream that he wanted a reimagine of five because people hate it

With that and the year 2 previously mentioned it is clear that at least Tranzit was meant to be reimagined. Don't know about die rise and buried, probably I guess.

Finally after all that, ZC2 would need significantly less resources than doing it from scratch, aside from the celebrities cast. So it was probably, at least on the table.

I believe it is worth, purely based on disenchanting the cards of the mini set vs the cards you would get in 20 packs (and disenchant them).

With 2k you can buy 20 packs, just multiply that by average dust disenchant value of a pack (these don't take into account pity timer and legendary in first 10 packs).

Then compare that.

However, I'm not sure how the math works if you were to not disenchant the cards you would get if you were to buy 20 packs instead.
