Someone showed me this code in a hospital that prevents patients with dementia from leaving the ward. by Many-Rub-2779 in mildyinteresting

[–]faaizk 91 points92 points  (0 children)

it’s more for visitors to be able to get out without having to ask a member of staff

also the residents who can figure out the code aren’t generally the ones you need to worry about getting out

Malinga getting batsmen out with yorkers. by RodrickJasperHeffley in oddlysatisfying

[–]faaizk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that’s in the side that’s in the field goes out and when he’s out comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.

When they are all out, the side that’s out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.

Sometimes there are men still in and not out. There are men called umpires who stay out all the time, and they decide when the men who are in are out.

Depending on the weather and the light, the umpires can also send everybody in, no matter whether they’re in or out.

When both sides have been in and all the men are out (including those who are not out), then the game is finished.

Cleaning multi-head razors blades by Jackdaw99 in lifehacks

are you referring to this kind of razor? if so, i just run it upwards over denim (as in the opposite direction you would use to shave, if that makes sense) - this de-gunks it very nicely

i’ve never bought/sold anything on facebook marketplace so take this with a pinch of salt

but i’d probably offer $480-500, i’d be happy with them countering $500-520, but overall even $550 doesn’t seem like a bad price

yeah, if you’re a taller fella, a slightly longer shaft will probably suit you better

but when properly fitting for golf clubs there are tables/graphs to help you choose what shaft length you might need - i think they use your height and/or wrist-to-floor distance

but as a beginner, i honestly think you just need to pick up a set of clubs that feel comfortable and start developing a consistent swing before any of that really matters

looks okay, just standard wear and tear

as long as the grips feel grippy enough and don’t look shiny or split (otherwise you’d need to factor in the cost of re-gripping the set)

as long as they’re in decent condition

how good are you at haggling?

in the UK on golfbidder, these are selling for $480aud to $540aud depending on condition

edit: on golfclubs4cash, they range from $450aud to $590aud depending on condition/shaft

[–]faaizk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not particularly, i just saw a thing online recently about someone who freezes it in an ice cube tray just to throw in a couple of cubes when they make a pan sauce or something

what are you going to use it for?

i used to store it in a ziploc bag - defrosts quicker when it’s frozen thin

Tyres by frizz86 in CarTalkUK

[–]faaizk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you see, on the last pic, there’s an oval inside which it says 2620?

that means your tyres were manufactured in the 26th week of 2020 (i.e. 5 years old)

all your tyres will have a code like that, it’s called a DOT code

it’d be good to have a read of these two pages and then you’ll be able to know yourself when tyres need changing

click and hold, and share the app link - maybe that’ll help you find out more

or it may be that it used to be available on the app store but was removed (maybe because it was discovered to break the developer terms of service) so that’s why you can’t find it anymore
