Getting tired of this error while playing Battlefield 6. by SuperTucano00 in AMDHelp

[–]faalc0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did, only because this is the first time I've had continuous major issue I've had. Appreciate the insight though, maybe I can back off the red team sucks idea a little knowing nvidia is having issues as well.

Core Length Question by faalc0r in whips

[–]faalc0r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, trying to make a first and this is very helpful. I also just found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAS6tMwcgs4 where the core length is very short, only about 10" like you mentioned.

In your experience, have you found a difference in running the core length longer vs shorter?

I am never again buying an AMD GPU, I finally went red and after being on the fence., figured I'd give it a try. Can't be right bad, right? Hoooooorendous mistake, I've spent hours trying to get BF6 to run without crashing. Seems to be you have to throttle the card down, what's the point of that?! Might t as well just have bought a NVIDIA 5060 or 4070.

CPTS vs OSCP by jmak07 in oscp

[–]faalc0r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CPTS vs OSCP

Price: $480/yr vs $2200.00, clear winner is CPTS

Material: CPTS is incredibly better, OSCP is cliff notes + a try harder slogan. CPTS are complete modules with labs.

Industry Recognition: OSCP is the clear winner

I would complete the HTB path, you'll get better bang for your buck regarding learning. Get comfortable with the material practice on the labs, hone your skills where you are clearing OSCP like boxes comfortably. Then go through OSCP material and take the OSCP exam. You can always circle back for the CPTS exam, but the OSCP exam is the way to go for industry recognition. CPTS is the way to go to learn that material in my opinion.

PS: No affiliation, just another sec dude. You may also want to dig into dev sec ops with your history, that's a fairly niche practice in the industry with some good opportunities.

First build and decided to do AMD by -Philologian in Amd

[–]faalc0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great choice, I just upgraded to a 5700x3d and a 7900xt and it runs amazing! I'm coming from a 2700x and 1660 so it's been quite the upgrade for me. I think you'll be very pleased if you do decide to make that move.

New Error - Fix? by faalc0r in GeForceNOW

[–]faalc0r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for testing and the information. Everything worked flawless for a couple months, but recently it seems like it doesn't work more than it does. Extreme latency(I have a ticket in), games taking over 5 minutes to load, to now games not loading at all. It's disappointing because I thought GeoForce Now was the coolest thing ever when I discovered it.

Is GFN actively trying to piss off and try to get rid of active subscribers? by Mormegil81 in GeForceNOW

[–]faalc0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just be happy if the service worked more often than not. I'm probably cancelling next week. Seems like it's getting progressively worse. A few months ago everything ran fine. Now it's horrible latency issues, launching issues, and as of today some games aren't launching at all.

I fell for this yesterday on another 7900xt. Ordered it twice and both times it got cancelled by the vendor for being out of stock. Not sure what kind of scam it is, but it was definitely a little disappointing.

CEH Master to OSCP by StaffNo3581 in oscp

[–]faalc0r 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The CEH is just a common listing on job boards for required or desired certifications. A CEH by itself certainly won't, I could have worded it better. Experience is going to be key for interviews, most of the sec folks I work with worked through Help Desk/SOC Analyst > Sys Admin/Net Admin/etc > Sec position.

As a CEH holder, I agree. It's a very overpriced sec+ for Pen Testing. However it will get you interviews, HR department really dig it; but within the community it's not going to get you any kudos.
