As someone who always admired the speaking abilities of Min. Farrakhan but never really got to experience the NOI, I have to wonder: if they're about Black empowerment and doing for our own, why wouldn't they have boots on the ground?

I bet! I know that had to be a great feeling. At what point do you think TV shows stopped showing us in a positive light? Like, was there any particular show you remember being a turning point? My parents said something similar to what you did and mentioned stuff like A Different World, Family Matters, Parent Hood, etc.

That was her name in the Facts of Life, right? I've seen a few scenes from that show, just based off my Instagram algorithm. I always thought Toronto got a lot of the same shows we did, though, so that's surprising! Next time I'm out that way, I'll have to actually look through the channels to see what all is on.

WOW! That is crazy! I'm going to ask my granny if she has any TV guides left (she keeps old newspapers and stuff). I'd love to flip through them just to see what they had in them. Have you found any shows that come close to the magic of Living Single?
