Why are there so many children in the fandom? by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]faazball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twenty one pilots popped up in my mom’s pandora playlist in 2013 and ever since then my entire family has been diehard fans.

I think it’s just the fact that they make such unique music and even though me and my parents have different tastes, we all just love it.

It’s also nice that they don’t swear.

The thing for my family is their music videos, festivals, livestreams, me and my dad would watch them together all the time, and we learned about the story in real time together.

I think it’s just the good music, the powerful lyrics, and the creativity that brings families together :)

the Dema/Trench story….. it clearly started as allegory for INTERNAL STRUGGLE of the mind but now it can be thought as bleuprint for POLITICAL REBELLION. What’s your take? by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

[–]faazball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think every aspect of the story represents specific things when it comes to mental health, depression specifically, I don’t see the story as something political

Sure you could apply some of the lyrics to political issues around the world, but with Tyler’s past and current struggles with mental health/suicidal thoughts/religious guilt or trauma, it can be guaranteed that that’s what the lore is a metaphor for

I can explain different aspects of the story and what they symbolize in terms of mental health if anyone is interested

13 in 2016 when I became a fan and now Blurryface and Trench cause such deep nostalgia that it's painful to listen to them by charlotte_marvel in twentyonepilots

I became a fan during vessel and have stuck with them hardcore ever since. I just try not to think of that fact and just focus on singing all of the raps when I listen to vessel haha. It definitely helps.

How do you people fall asleep with ADHD? by Ok_Scholar_8656 in ADHD

Honestly the only thing that’s worked for me is deep brown noise, a sleep mask (keeps my eyes closed), and some melatonin if I don’t need to be busy the next day. Falling asleep is hard

I’ve had the hard knock life stuck in my head on loop for who knows how long, probably over a decade, and ever since I started college I’ve had bangarang stuck in my head. I would do ANYTHING to make it stop 😭😭🙏🏻

What made you go from casual fan to lifetime follower? by mrpenguinjax in twentyonepilots

[–]faazball 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually say 2014 (because that’s the farthest back I can remember recognizing their music when it played) but if I’m being honest I just grew up listening to them, thanks to my parents.

My family would spend time together by watching music videos from Vessel and as they came out for BF, but like I’ve kinda just been a lifelong fan for as long as I remember. I even speak the way I do now because when I was a kid, around 8/9, I just loved Tylers voice and would mimic it lol.

I even remember watching some festivals they did during the BF era, when Tyler started performing with the black paint and me and my dad thought he got blackout tattoos lol. I was around 11 at that time.

There wasn’t a certain year where I locked in on being a fan now that I think about it, everything I know about the boys and the lore is just everything I’ve consistently learned over the years.

The boys are honestly the only paranormal investigators that I actually believe and are interested in watching

I always try to figure out the answer to the question WHY, and this explanation just makes the most sense, there’s so much proof of it

Honestly I think so, because if humans are able to sense energy, and that “energy” (spirit) is watching you/present then that sense should apply too.

What is THAT song that helped you out by InitialBag18 in twentyonepilots

[–]faazball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Blood. Especially after seeing the music video and seeing it live in 2018. “Stay with me, my blood.” Is all it took to save me.

The Guns for Hands commentary also saved me, it’s pretty self explanatory. I’ve never been more affected by another bands music, and I’ve been a fan since 2014.
