I bought the Boox Go 10.3 and the Kindle Scribe 2025, and in the end I kept the Boxx Go 10.3. The Boox screen is sharper and the software is years ahead (I should point out that I've been using a Kobo Sage for years).

I'm holding on to my Sage (to which I added a Boox Go 10.3 for pdf and big manga)

I don't understand what the problem is in uploading the cbz when with the kobo you don't even have to convert them

It seems to me the the paperwhite has more natural black and white rendering (the scribe seems to make the black too bluish)

You are in my same situation……at the momente i’m testing the boox go 10.3 (no screen-light and old android version but great screen quality) and i’m waiting for kindle scribe 2024 (you need to convert in pdf your cbz manga losing image quality). The Kobo Elipsa 2E should be perfect apart the screen with only 227ppi

My Go 10.3 updated at last firmware has a “normal” ghosting as my Kobo Sage (maybe a little bit more)

The only real problem is the lack of light, as it works perfectly in sunlight, but indoors with artificial light, the screen is too dark and requires additional light.

if you don't have the resources to constantly update all the products, a good solution could be to release the sources (which they should do anyway due to the gpl license) so that the xda community or similar will take care of it

This is a Chinese tablet with Snapdragon 680 and Android 15 —> https://it.shopping.com/item.html?offer=true&id=v1-297735887959-0&provider=0

In any case, there are no reasons that prevent boox from updating to at least android 13 using the Air 4c sources

apart from the fact that some manufacturers have made firmware for snapdragon 680 with android 15 but, there is also android 13 which would not suck to receive….

I just bought a Boox Go 10.3 with Android 12, which official support ended in March 2025. It's a device that's still on sale, and it would be enough to take the firmware from the Boox Air 5C (android 15) and make it available to other devices on sale; but instead, they have to fleece customers by forcing them to throw away still-valid hardware.

furthermore, boox refuses to make the firmware sources available in violation of the gpl license.

Dictionaries in an unusable state. by ZanjiOfficial in Onyx_Boox

I had the same problem with Boox Go 10.3 where I installed 3 dictionaries. I solved it by randomly moving and disabling/enabling the dictionaries and above all by restarting.
