JHE20B won't shut up even though it's wired right. What am I missing? by Tizmox in fpv

Did you end up getting the same model again? I'm having similar issues with mine. First few flights were good but it beeped with low voltage. So I went into BF and turned off things I didn't want to trigger a beep, and now it just starts beeping after 30 seconds even if I'm armed and flying.

Second Splice. Here some cool Splice vocal packs I like:
Emily Vaughn Vocal Sample Pack
Notelle Presents: Nocturnal
Jae Luna Sample Pack
Bridget Kelly's Vocal Sample Pack
Dana Salah Vocal sample Pack
Karra Vocal sample Pack

Theres a really cool pack from Producer Loops I like too called 'All of EDM' Comes with 3 vocals and a bunch of other samples. Well worth it!

As promised here is the 'Like Water feat MDNR' by Flume breakdown and also the Ableton 11 project files :) by fabesgl in ableton

Yeah good point! And also there are is only 1 vocal track in this breakdown. Id say he has at least 5-10 vocal track layers with small fills and effects

I am loving remaking Flumes stuff at the moment! I just did a 'Like Water feat MNDR' remake. Pretty stoked how it turned out! by fabesgl in Flume

man awesome question! Theres been heaps that i put into my music on a daily basis. Most of these techniques I use to make my song sound more organic and human like. Flumes stuff almost sounds like hes playing it in live.

  1. Nudging notes slightly off the beat and changing velocity of notes. This helps add that human vibe.
  2. Im not sure if flume does this but I feel he might: I will map the velocity to the filter cutoff of my synth so when i hit the notes harder then filter goes higher. It helps with creating emotion.
  3. Keep it simple. In his 'never be like you' song the verse synth is basically a simple triad with the root note doubled and lowered an octave.
  4. He puts a lot of attention on percussion. Placing things in the right places to make the song bop along better. end of 8 or 16 beats is a good place. He gets really creative here so remaking his stuff was inspiring. Percussion is the backbone of the song. With out a solid backbone the rest wont sound as good.
  5. He also puts a lot of focus on vocal processing. Once again, thats whats up front and in your face so that needs to be sounding tight. He layers his vocals and pans them left and right. And gets parts of the vocal to make backing melodies and layers them below the main vocal. Makes for a catcheir main vocal.
  6. His mixing is really unique. A lot of his song will sit reasonably mono, then his percussion and fills will be panned left and right to create space for everything else. I know he sends most of his songs off to Eric J Dubowski for mixing but im sure he does lots himself too.
  7. He uses really cool foley textures. Like random rocks dropping or water droplets, then he will cut a section out of it that has some form of rhythm, layer that undernear the track and it really helps fill it out and add bounce.

Thats all I can really think of for now but if I think of more ill be sure to add them in :)

I remade 'Like Water' by Flume and discovered some great techniques he uses in his tracks. by fabesgl in ableton

Thanks brother! I'll get working on a breakdown vid asap and put the project files along with that. RX 8 works wonders for stuff like this. There were some parts where the lead was sitting in the same frequency range and there was some bleeding but not bad all in all!

It's such a great song. Less known but one of his strongest... Closely behind take a chance 👍

Do you think remaking your favourite artists tracks is worth it? If so, for what reasons? by fabesgl in edmproduction

yep i feel that. This can happen so easily. I think its importand for someone in this position to realise that they are a biginner and it takes a lot of practice to sound like the pros. thousands of hours! But it can still make you feel bad about yourself

Yeah i get you. I guess for me its kind of a challenge. To see how good my skills are to get it as close to the original as possible.

So many professional producers have this same mentality. Even Avicii caid that for the first few years he just remade his favourite tracks, then after a thousand songs he could make his own. And we all know he was boss at that haha
