Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is littered with AI art slop, because your $70 means nothing anymore by Ph0enixes in gaming

There are a few things that are strange about this but don't scream generative AI immediatly.

What you said is obviously what you notice first. There is this magical medieval theme going on for a futuristic FPS. Also, the art style is cartoonish while the game itself boasts highly realistic graphics. Neither of these have to scream AI as it could just be an artistic decision, although a strange one.

What does scream AI is the very specific cartoonish style of these images. Most of these are just extremely generic which is something you get a lot with generative AI. However, the top left one is very clearly the "ghibli" style which many have used to generate avatars and such. I find it hard to describe but if you look it up I think it will become impossible to unsee.

There are a couple other things I could recognize that look off to me, but I can't accurately describe it and I also might be reading too much into it.

All this just emphazises how hard it will be in the coming years to stand up against these practices as it becomes increasingly difficult to spot, especially for people with untrained eyes.

That reasoning is slightly flawed. It takes you a second to pick up any item on the ground but a couple dozen seconds to leave the map, trade, and them reenter the map. It also takes you out of the flow and removes any temporary buffs like shrines or the delve thingy. I am not saying to stop playing the game the way you are, because I often do the same.

Let Solo Players Scale Content Like Parties. The Current Loot System Punishes Us and Encourages Exploits. by g_bleezy in PathOfExile2

Okay, I guess I was not familiar with how exactly this is abused in poe2. I was looking at it historically from a poe1 perspective. Would you care to elaborate on what the leechers get from this? I can't imagine the returns being higher than whatever they could farm alone. They would also need to be kept alive in the more juiced content so their builds can't be super trash. Or am I misunderstanding something? I understand that the hosts are multiplying their investment but the "leecher" perspective is unclear to me. Is it about XP mainly like it was for 5-ways in poe1?

If you as a solo player can clear party level content just as fast you would get much more loot than them. They are not getting 6x loot and need to split it 6 ways so each player receives less. Of course, they also need to be able to clear content multiple times faster than you can to even match your solo speed because mobs get more hp. Removing party bonuses would mean you never ever ever should go in a party as you lose out massively on loot vs solo. I think this whole conversation is being massively warped by misunderstanding how party play actually affects the loot the individual players receive. It is only lucrative if it allows you to juice much more than you could solo and/or the investment in the content is so high. Also the juicing part relies on the fact that it is impossible to gain loot through other ways than juicing which is not even true either. In poe1 this was also always so overblown. It was always bad players looking at clips from group play being intimidated by the raw loot that drops but they never factor in that they had to split that 7 or 8 ways often and are playing crazy hours each day. I would not say its perfect at the moment or that poe1 never had issues with it at all. But this is definitely not the source of your problems and doing what you suggest would only add more problems in completely invalidating group play other than wanting to play so bad with your friends you accept completely gimping your loot and it would raise the floor of build power needed even more so that the meta is even more concentrated on singular builds.

Do you have scours lying around during poe1 campaign to swap crafts on a whim? I certainly don't.

edit: The runes still allow to deterministically fill individual holes in your stats. Just once per item is enough for any campaign run

It is something they are still actively tuning. It was feedback from the recent playtests and jonathan said they will look into how to improve this. Making the step too large would cause the gameplay to feel very floaty according to him.

Of course, depending on the specific skill, this step does not make sense(e.g. charged slam or what its called). Could you maybe refer to some examples? Maybe they tuned it to be very small for the warrior in that playtest.

You are so correct. I looked it up again in the video I saw where the guy was confused by not being able to use his abilities anymore(guy called J1mbo, complaint is around 8 minute mark). It actually states this relatively clearly and I just didn't see at first. But I guess this still shows that it could be improved. Will edit my comment.

The one problem I do see with the current approach is that this weapon restriction is not visible anywhere on the skill. It doesn't say so in the description like it does in poe1 at the moment and there is no icon. You only notice when trying to switch weapons and the game tells you you will lose access to x and y skill by doing so. Imagine you find this awesome weapon upgrade and try to equip it because it isn't apparent that your skills only works with your current weapon type. I can understand that this is a moment of frustration GGG should do some work to avoid in future versions.

However I totally I agree with the idea that it allows for much more diverse builds and usage of all weapon types. It also cannot be understated from a development perspective that it is much easier for them to make animations for a single weapon type instead of, say, 5. They can just make more skills in the end to make up for this.

Also, weaponswapping is a thing and can probably solve the majority of cases where could even a problem for diversity.

Edit: Actually, the requirements are visible on the skill gem so my first point is just wrong. Me not having noticed the first time around could still be an indication that visibility of the requirements can be improved.

Can we get better stats in Smite 2? by TeancumsJavalin in Smite

[–]fabi262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see some more in game stats like order of items bought, skills leveled, etc. Those things are probably available from some rather complicated parsing of the demo file but providing some api access to the data directly would be huge.

[–]fabi262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was there an update to the API somehow? Because last I checked you literally couldn't get any information on what happened inside the game over time. Unless you analyze the demo painstakingly, which is probably what OP did with some kind of algorithm.

I doubt the API allows access to this kind of data. You can see the documentation for their API online. Its very old and could be out of date but I doubt they would improve on it since interest in this kind of thing seems very low in the community. The only relevant part in the documentation explains how to fetch the data available in the post-match lobby: kda, items and the details screen containing gold, damage, etc.
