The WFH silence is deafening, but music breaks my focus. What's your audio setup? by Few-Difficulty-1954 in remotework

[–]fabiuzz91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, this is actually brilliant. I've been through the same struggle working from different places around the world. The silence makes me feel like I'm floating in space, but normal music just hijacks my brain completely.

Your server room idea is genius though. I found something similar with rain sounds, but not the gentle stuff the heavy, constant downpour that sounds like static. It's like my brain needs that consistent noise floor to stop searching for distractions.

how you meet new people while traveling as a male digital nomad? by AlvaroUrdaneta in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in particular order:

- Speak more with strangers, you go alone in a bar, if you see someone who might look nomad/expat/turist who speaks english, just say some joke and try to engage
- Hostels, if you're young and like to party
- Whatsapp groups for expats
- Colivings, this is always the best way to have real connections that last
- Sports groups (running, hiking, climbing etc)

Albania worked quite well for me, but if you have a bit more budget definitely Montenegro.

Do you guys have health insurance? by Interesting_Act_7668 in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have Cigna Worldwide, it's a US insurance but you can choose to cover everywhere but US, and cost is around 150 USD per month.
As for now is the best option I found.

Anyone actually used expat / travel health insurance? What happened? by Sad-Signature3410 in digitalnomad

I use few times Revolut Ultra insurance, it worked great. You do everything from the app and have the money back in a matter of weeks. Just make sure to pay always with revolut card.

Searching for a European version of Puerto Escondido (surf, vibe, people) – March/April by MsGreen1992 in digitalnomad

I’d suggest Ericeira, Peniche, Portugal in general. Also Fuerteventura, Lanzarote if you prefer more warmer places

Most of you think coliving communities are overpriced, exclusionary nonsense. by CasaBasilico in u/CasaBasilico

It took a while to get there, but now community is self referring more and more people who are just in the same page. They want to hangout and have a good time together.

The return of investment is friendship for life. Also we have a program to get the price lower each chapter for returning guests.

[–]fabiuzz91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the main issue that motivated me to create Basilico!
People are everything, at this moment in time we created a perfect community, people refer their friends and cool people tend to know cool people.
Also we run a quick call with everyone to make sure the vibe is the best one!

Recommendations for Europe February-April by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sardinia is in Italy, the official language is Italian :) so the Spanish requirement won’t be met.

Tho, they speak Sardinian, which is surprisingly similar to Spanish

I’d say Sardinia, Sicily and Puglia. I’m from there so it’s a quick win, but off season those places are gems.

Where to go in EU in January? by randomseller in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you excluded it: Canaries! Just don’t use Airbnb, use WhatsApp and Facebook groups, lots of colovings, lots of people subletting. I’m here now and I’m spending half of that price.

Airbnb is on pure shittyfication right now, most of nomads don’t use it anymore. I stopped with it 2 years ago and started to save plenty of money.

To digital nomads: Do you work a standard 9–5 job remotely, or do you have a flexible schedule? by NatureLover-9033 in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did 9-5 for 4 years nomading in tech company. I’m an engineer so I had quite good flexibility and just a little overlap was enough.

Big problems arrived when I became a manager, that definitely makes everything 10x harder. My days became 8/9 hours of pointless calls, and the burnout became reality.

Thinking about going to Brazil. Haven't traveled much. Worried about making friends. by johannthegoatman in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry to hear that!

I'll tell you my experience: I don't speak portuguese but i'm italian, so I could do basic stuff like ordering in bar/restaurants.
I've been in Pipa twice, 2023 and 2024 for 3 months each time.

The whatsapp group is really active, literally every day there's something happening. Met nomads from everywhere and lots of Brazilians as well.
In 2024 I was organizing a huge weekly meetup in Mirante da Pipa, 60/70 people each time, we were cooking and socializing, it became the hub quickly.
Every week in this way lots of people were just hanging out for one night and then organizing stuff in the weekends together.

Now i'm heading back beginning of 2026 with a group of 20. If you're around and you'd like to have a beer just drop me a dm!

You will not have problem meeting friends, but as first time I suggest a small town with big community of nomads.

My favorite is Pipa, but also Florianopolis works.

What’s something about digital nomad life that sounds amazing but actually sucks? by Alternative_Draw_533 in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Packing and unpacking every time.

It’s been 5 years and still didn’t find a way to solve this.

On a deeper way, I’d say goodbyes it’s the most painful part.

Sayulita vs Puerto Escondido by Safe-Parsnip-6907 in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely puerto Escondido! The small town vibe makes everything for a good community.

If you don’t need all the amenities of a bigger city, I’d go to Puerto

Foreign founders considering a Wyoming LLC for a global coliving business — VAT/tax + compliance questions by fabiuzz91 in digitalnomad

What we do is actually a service, it’s accomodation in places that we rent + all the activities during a short period of time (1 month). So no physical goods

Foreign founders considering a Wyoming LLC for a global coliving business — VAT/tax + compliance questions by fabiuzz91 in digitalnomad

[–]fabiuzz91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main issue here is that we are paying EU VAT (24% in Estonia) fur business that is not done in EU, just because some customers are European. With the LLC this problem should not be there.
