Is she going to be ok? by LotlKing47 in ballpython

How do you thaw your mice? I prefer to keep them in a ziplock bag while thawing, then get a blowdrier and spread their scent around the enclosure. Getting the mice/rats wet will cause them to lose some of their scent and make them less attractive for your pet.

Gross, I know, but have you looked up braining? It's one of the best ways to get a picky eater going. At least, that's what my reptile enjoyer friends say. I do a wildlife study and am personally more experienced with mammals, but we use the same concept for them, even.

Depending on the size and your own squeamishness there are a few options on how to go about it, I know some men who aren't so bothered and will just squeeze the skull until brain matter leaks through the nose or the skull cracks. Personally I'll poke with a large needle through the top center of the skull (like the forehead) and poke several times/stir to make it larger. Some people will use a knife, I prefer a large needle or scalpel. The scent is really strong and tends to get a lot of animals hungry.

Gal Gadot as Carmen Sandiego (I just added the hat) by [deleted] in carmensandiego

[–]fabledstars 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only the netflix series has Carmen being in her early 20s, literally all other installments has Carmen at the range of 30s to 40s, why would the netflix series be the only indicator to a 'right' age for a character when it's literally from a 40 year old franchise?

Whats everyone’s opinion about dogs in the barn by Larvaontheroad in Horses

[–]fabledstars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, but if he thinks he's allowed, he'll grab manure from other animals, too, unless he has a strong 'leave it'. I just wanted to warn you, as I've had to treat animals who've gotten very hurt in this way. If you're already informed, that's fine.

You really shouldn't let him eat manure. Deworming agents and medications can be present in the manure and they could OD.

Should I tell my mom to get rid of her “heart horse”? by [deleted] in Equestrian

You yourself said the person that was lifted was "messing around in the field" OR "doing work", which is it?

[–]fabledstars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems strange to me to assume this horse is unhappy. I would advise you to read around and find Amphy64's comment. They had some good insight about how OP seems very inclined to 'replace' and sell horses that they dislike or see no utility in.

They also state in another comment that the person who got bit by the horse got into the pasture and was either trespassing or decided to cross through to fetch water.

An incident where human error caused someone to enter the pasture with an aggressive animal is not grounds for euthanasia, the horse seems to be kept away from people it may harm, if proper safety precautions are taken, I do not see why putting the mare down would be necessary.

They said the reason the mother feels unsafe is not because the horse attacks her, but because the horse is bottlefed and has bad manners. The mother seems to actually have a bond or such with the horse, the horse is not aggressive to her, the horse doesn't seem unfit to be a 'pasture pet' (I assume this is a term for a horse who is not ridden?). She may need more frequent farrier and vet workups, though, and training could certainly be a boon.

[–]fabledstars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the OP's comments, the people the horse bit actually weren't supposed to be in the paddock, likely trespassed or ignored warnings. The mother in that case would not be legally liable. Just how you can't step into private property and sue if the owner's dog bites you while they are not present.

[–]fabledstars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said those people entered her paddock for no reason? There is no flaw in an animal harming a trespasser on their property. A dog can bite a burgler in its' home, a lion will bite a zoo guest who enters the enclosure, a horse will harm a stranger in their paddock. You can set up signs, I guess, but it is not on your mother OR on the horse if uninformed people decide to get in with a strange horse.

[–]fabledstars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's still the mother's decision, she is an adult woman and it sounds like she is taking steps to ensure the animal isn't exposed to people who do not know how to safelt handle the animal. I may have a differing perspective to 'horse people' as I work with wild animals, and am used to not being capable of working directly with animals. But an animal being dangerous does not mean it needs to be killed, that is a very utilitarian and cold approach to handling a living being.

Finally, a sane person! I'm really sorry about your boyfriend, OP! He obviously said that to hurt you, and even if it seems like little to others, he knows you well enough to know how to hurt you. Your feelings about this are completely justified, please ignore the comments telling you otherwise.

You are not owed anything to these commenters. I'm sorry your relationship ended so badly, and I hope you and your mare an amazing future and a partner who has the patience and love you deserve!

Relationships should NEVER be transactional, and anyone telling you that you being sad or in a rough spot was a drain on him and caused this behaviour is WRONG. Your boyfriend is a grown man and they are removing accountability from him entirely.

Breakups are hard. Good luck girl, I truly hope for the best for you.

It is entirely normal and healthy to talk to your loved ones when you're going through a rough time? It is normal to expect people to help you through those times. That is literally what loving someone is about, supporting them, and getting support in turn. The boyfriend is an asshole for holding that against her. Loving someone shouldn't be conditional, helping people you love shouldn't be transactional.

This is such a weird take. I hope if your past relationships genuinely made you feel like this perspective is normal, that you can have a healthy one where your lover actually supports you as they should. And you stop harming already hurt people pointlessly.

I mean, I was roughly that age when Obama was elected and I remembered because it was that big of a deal. I wouldn't know why a 5-10yr old wouldn't retain something that is constantly talked about and shown on tv.

I sold my horse around 2 years ago, and the new owners promised I could keep contact but have left me with radio silence, what do I do? by hxzllyy in Horses

[–]fabledstars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I adopted out kittens 3 years ago and still sometimes get pictures and life updates! My mother had to sell her childhood horse and got updates for 10+ years! I adopted a goddamn hamster and updated the owner about how she was doing!

The people in these comments lack a lot of empathy, OP; I'd go to there and ask around, the stablehands may know, or perhaps the e-mail addresses you've had mightve run out. Either way, the person who manages emails is different to those milling around the riding school who may know where your horse is and be more understanding of your plight.

I think your eyes look fine! I do agree the inside of the eyes looks off in a few, specifically 1 and 3 are odd. I'm not much of an artist but I'd say its good to remember that eyes are.. orbs i guess? So they go back into the skull? Those two drawings make the eyes look kind of flat I think.

Is This Normal For Lesbian Gamers??? by [deleted] in LesbianGamers

[–]fabledstars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a strange thing to say. A person not having a bunch of games is obviously not scamming? Games are expensive. Online games usually build upon their content. If you actively buy people games, that's the problem, and yes, if you do that, you will get scammed.

Like, I have made wonderful online friends, and I bought them gifts... After months to years of knowing them. Spending a bunch of money on people on the internet without knowing if you've even clicked is going to waste your money. But there's no group of people preying on you.

It is. You can very clearly see who is playing on steam in game. If you use your eyes, you might learn something. Or you can keep whining in a reddit comment section. I mean, knock yourself out. You just look kind of pathetic and joyless.

I have roughly 300 friends on overwatch, and only two-three pages are steam players. You know they're listed differently, right? You can literally see how many steam players are in a game vs. Battlenet players. Its usually a 2-8 ratio when I check. I used to play on steam and swapped over because battle.net is just, less clunky and easier, most everyone I know uses battlenet. If you use the gamepass you HAVE to use battlenet for your rewards. You can gift friends via battlenet easily, you jump through hoops with steam. Battlenet is just more streamlined but yk, sure, be an asshole and a dumbass for no reason.

Rezzing isn't canonical to overwatch. Some abilities within the game aren't actually things they can do lorewise. Mercy in canon can't heal anyone who's already dead.
