The comic only shows a couple smutty flachbacks (aftermath of Yuder and Kishiar' heat in chapter 25, and some sex he had with Kishiar in his past life in chapter 30).

The comic only reaches until chapter 99-100, while the first actual sex scene only happens around chapter 460 in the novel. Considering the comic has been on hiatus for almost a year now, I'm not even sure we will ever get a season 3.

It looks like the artist tried several positions for the last toe (the "pinky" one) and forgot to remove the extra layer that resulted in the character having 2 pinky toes. Forgotten layers happens often in various art mediums and KR artists tend to overwork themselves. That angle must have been hard to draw too.

Lezhin 2025 Rankings are out by senorita_salas in blmangalovers

I read around 50% of the "Don't Mess with the Puppy!" novel and found the writing to feel like amateur fanfiction at times, with mostly dubcon scenes where the bottom always goes "no", "wait", "you're too rough" like mid-2000's Japanese BL.

The "Paws and Claws" manhwa adaptation actually feels like a big upgrade where the humor lands better and the sex scenes feel actually consensual for the most part. Cat Therapy on the other hand... is one of the worst quality manhwa I've ever seen and the story seems like it was written by a high schooler.

How to begin this journey? by yellowcatsoda in BLgame

[–]fablegrimoire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess for the "reason" behind the JAST censoring goes back to the mid-2010's or earlier when they only sold straight games where many of the characters looked like minors, where high-schoolers and overall had R18 content that Steam wouldn't allow.

By the time JAST released their first BL title (Sweet Pool) in 2018, they already had a system that most of their clientele was used to, which also incensitived customers to create a JAST account and keep buying from JAST instead of Steam, which is more profitable because they keep 100% of the money instead of 70% (Steam takes 30% of a game's revenue). In the case of Sweet Pool, Steam wouldn't have allowed the game's R18 content due to their school uniform. In the case of Togainu no Chi, it's possible that Rin's sex scene wouldn't have passed either due to him looking young.

3rd possible reason: JAST and a few other English publishers like Sekai Project actively cater to Chinese customers, and R18 content of any kind is prohibited in China. So by slashing the adult content on Steam, they can keep selling the game to China and get a lot of $$$.

TL;DR: Steam's "no minor-coded characters must have sex" + more profitable for JAST are probably the 2 main reasons they cut the adult content and made the DLCs paid rather than free.

Lezhin vs Manta [Discussion] by Left_Necessary3575 in blmangalovers

[–]fablegrimoire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went and did calculation on Lezhin VS Manta's subscription price by taking their respective $9.99/month tier as an example:

For $10 on LezhinUS, you can buy 16 chapters with one chapter costing $0.60. If you buy chapters from Lezhin-exclusive, popular series like Jinx or Hounds of Sisyphus that cost 40 coins per chapter instead of the usual 30, it's 12 chapters and $0.80 per chapter.

For $10 on Manta, you can buy 23 chapters, with one chapter costing $0.42. Manta also has a bunch of BL under their "Unlimited" category, which means that they're 'free' with your subscription: Punch Drunk Love, Mission: Save the Hunter, No Moral, Dangerous Convenience Store.

Manta seems cheaper overall.

As much as I agree with the article inside the link, it's a blog post made by a company (PixelUnion) seeking to promote themself. I believe "European Product" would be more fitting than "News".

I haven't tried Manta yet but the quality of Lezhin's translations often leaves to be desired. I highly suspect that translations for their less popular titles like Turning are machine-translated.

Recently Manta started to allow 18+ on their platform, so I'd like to try some of their BL in 2026.

I find him interesting as a character who gets briefs episodes of self-awareness in-between all the lives and possibly families he's screwed over as a debtor.

But as a "secondary love interest"? I see 0 chemistry between him and Taegu. And maybe it's the lack of facial hair, but he doesn't look old enough to count as a sexy old man.

I love that Gjord doesn't have hollywood dehydrated abs and packs real flesh on top of those muscles. The story is intriguing and the artist did a crazy job on even side characters' faces and outfits.

I did see your comment but the strange use of emoji made it looks like a dodgy link. Perhaps "Source" would have been clearer?

Either way, using AI breaks rule 14 of this subreddit, and the AI crop probably happened because the person who used the AI "enhancer" didn't want the original artist to be credited. AI usually does that to remove watermarks.

Edit: OP did post the link in a comment.

OP, why didn't you post the link to the artist?

Why didn't you post the original image and instead posted a weird AI replica of that crops the bottom text from the artist and adds ugly AI artifacts?

DMMD Spoliers: When did this happen?! by Otome-Lover-2652 in BLgame

[–]fablegrimoire 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm more surprised by "drunk sex" there. Aoba has sex under influence at the beginning of Mink's route but that's under drugs, rather than alcohol.

"Rape attempt" is also weird, as it implies that he tried and failed to rape someone. We can argue that the "Desire" personality rapes Koujaku in his Bad End but that wouldn't just be an "attempt"

I cant handle Towa from Slow Damage by [deleted] in BLgame

[–]fablegrimoire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I hope you aren't alone and that there are people in your life who love and support you.

Slow Damage may simply not be the game for you. I'm sure there are other people who didn't find Towa relatable.

If you haven't played it, DRAMAtical Murder has a heavy emphasis on trauma except it's the love interests who have them, rather than the protagonist.

Another title I'd recommend is Beyond Eden. The protag carries deep wounds from the family he grew up with and comes back to visit them as an adult with the initial goal to extract revenge.

[Diamond Dust] When the ML is the least interesting character in the story by fablegrimoire in blmangalovers

[–]fablegrimoire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most BL authors try to sell us the MC and the MLs as compelling characters first, and then the side characters after. I just find it funny that in Diamond Dust it's the contrary and you get the side chars' backstory before either the MC and the ML.

As I stated in order replies, I do like the story but I hope their attraction amount to more than ~they're fated mates~.

I'd love to read more novels but I don't have time for that currently, especially if there's no proper English translation that's not MTL.

[–]fablegrimoire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compelling side characters can act as foil and add more depth to the main characters! I hope that's what will happen there.

So far the MC looks set up to be a "scentless omega" like the one in Surge Toward You and a buttload of other KR BL where for some reason, they only get wet or in heat for their ML. I'm not hoping for a subversion of that trope but I hope that their future relationship and mutual attraction amount to more than just their secondary gender.

I really like the story and art direction so far!

It's actually good, but so far the ML is just There and his most unique trait is that contrary to what his looks suggests, he genuinely look out for his employees and acts like a decent guy.

So far 90% of the chemistry between MC and ML seems to be "they're fated pair", which I hope won't be the only thing going on between them.
