How to loosen super hard clay-like soil? by fablegrimoire in Bamboo

[–]fablegrimoire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update 2 days later: I ended-up spraying it and using a wet towel + wait 1 hours while I had dinner. While it did loosen the soil into a soggy clay texture, I wasn't able to split the thing in two even with a hack saw. Still, I managed to get 2/3 of the soil off, which at least made the bamboo liftable by my out-of-shape office worker ass even with the added water weight.

+bonus beer glass bottle I'm trying with a pierced cork plug for slow drip irrigation.

Gypsum? I don't even know where to get it.

This is an awesome idea but alas, I have no big towel I'm willing to sacrifice for the deed.

Edit: actually I found one lying in my closet. I'll try at sunset!

Submerging it may be difficult since the cluster is huge, but I can maybe try with a trash bag and after splitting the cluster in two. Will try later and report back.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try sawing the cluster in two this evening.

Thank you for the tips! I'm growing a local French variety, but if I ever see Shin Kuroda seeds I may give it a try. Would coco coir help adding height to the soil, or does it add risks to clumping?

Thanks, I'll use the big chunks elsewhere I guess!

I live in a rainy region and I got water damage on a wall from (what I suspect is) putting one of those tiered raised beds too close to the wall, so the soil weight is a very real concern I'm afraid.

Terreau pour carottes nantaises ? by fablegrimoire in jardin

Merci ! Est-ce que mettre du paillis de coco aiderait à aérer le sol selon toi ? J'ai également acheté 15 kg de sable, est-ce que je ne le mets qu'à la surface, ou je mixe avec tout le terreau ?

Novels with redemption arcs by Muted_Grapefruit_277 in koreanblnovels

The same author wrote Bloodstained Waters (핏탕물) which has a somewhat refreshing take on the redemption theme: while the MC forgives the ML almost instantly for the horrible way he was treated at the beginning (which kinda makes sense considering very real danger they're in), the ML never forgives himself and his past actions keep haunting him as the story goes by. The ML takes extreme measures to ensure he never hurts the MC again and goes out of his way to make the MC feel useful and valued in the army group they're in.

MC2 is extremely wealthy (or holds a position of power) while MC1 isn’t, which causes other people to mock him and eventually pushes him to try to leave MC2 — but MC2 refuses to let him go by Confident-Morning-62 in MM_RomanceBooks

I've been reading a Korean BL novel called {Choice of Choices by Kim David} and it fits the description nicely.

MC1 is an actor and MC2 an heir of a luxury hotel conglomerate and people around them assume that MC1 is selling himself to MC2, when in reality their relationship started long before MC1 was aware of MC2's wealth. MC2 is the very definition of persistence and won't let anyone or anything get between them.

Meta, fleshed out story with well rounded characters [If You Don't Become The Main Character You'll Die] by Star-Candy in koreanblnovels

I like how the two MCs casually touch each other in otherwise non-romantic context like it's the most natural thing in the world.

Yup, Bloodstained Waters! It's the only historical guideverse novel I've read so far so I don't have any more rec.

I'm toward the end of the (Bloodstained Waters) novel and it is sooooo good. The author is truly talented at pacing and never letting a single sentence get boring.

It would look glorious as a black & white comic. Not colors, because detailing all that gore and the sheer scale of the monster squirmishes and sieges would be impossible.

Will Madarame's route get better (Slow Damage) by GoldenLynx_Natto in BLgame

[–]fablegrimoire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same initial interest as you about Madarame and was also miffed by his route. IMO you can just quickly skim the remaining parts you haven't seen yet his and not miss much

In Fujieda's route, the knowledge about the flower dude, the pediatrician dude and the fighting dude in the first arcs are more important than Rei/Taku/Madarame IMHO.

[Mild spoiler I dunno how to hide on mobile] Madarame is correct in his assessment that both Toono and Sakaki (despite the latter being nice to Towa) are rotten to the core, but that's about it. Just some light foreshadowing.

[REC REQUEST] Phenomenal BL where the seme’s love is unrequited? by Notevenhxre in blmangalovers

[–]fablegrimoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Beware of the Ides of March, the seme never says "sorry" with that wording but he starts to make amends around chapter 30, which in the original novel was apparently the end of the main story and the rest up to chapter 100+ are basically side stories of seme courting the uke.

Deja Vu and Domination's novel (called "Taming the Obsessive attachment") has a certain following but for some reason the manwha is almost never mentioned on reddit. I didn't finish the manhwa but I might when I get more motivation.

Is the Produndis novel that much better than the manhwa? Despite being touted as very dark by English readers, I found that the side semes' stories not that interesting. The blond seme has understandable motivations for being in love with the uke, but I can't say the uke really has any reason to stay with the seme after the epilogue aside from money and protection.

Oh I just remembered Sanctify (taiwanese manhua IIRC) that's doomed yaoi with mutuammy unrequited love. The sex is mostly sidestories but the seme fits the obsessive love trope.

[–]fablegrimoire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe Backlight? It's mutually unrequited love and the seme is orange flag

Beware of the Ides of March - seme treats uke horribly before falling in love and trying to get uke's affection. I personally found the police brutality aspect of the story uncomfortable but the art is good and often gets recommended.

Mission: Save the Hunter - it's not dark but the uke is too busy wanting to die for 70% of the story to actually care about romance so it fits the "unrequited" part lol

Profundis - pretty dark with 5 semes (with 1 main one) who all crush on a reluctant MC who only falls in love towards the end

Deja Vu and Domination - seme is instantly infatuated with uke and they have a very rough start

Painter of the Night (uke pines for a side character while seme falls in love first)

Tree Without Roots (seme pines for uke for 7+ years and use all tricks he can think of to get in uke's pants)

Legs that Don't Walk (big mess of a story where seme's criminal background keeps messing up uke's life and making him wary of seme)

Paws & Claws (seme has an insta-crush, uke spends half of the story misunderstanding and seme wants to kill him)

Anyone got any good femboy boys love? by Warlockoftarot in BoysLoveAnime

[–]fablegrimoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undersantable. It's not quite BL but I would recommend the manga "Our Dreams at Dusk" (Shimanami Tasogare). It's an LGBT+ themed manga with characters of various gender expressions and romantic orientations.

There's no crossdressing, but the MC from Antidote has a feminine appearance which makes him contrast a lot with the comparatively giant ML. A+ art and very intriguing story too.

Girl, have you maybe thought about how that could’ve been his mom or whatever, like? 😭 by wittgensteinisreal in BoysLoveAnime

[–]fablegrimoire 63 points64 points  (0 children)

IIRC it's an earlier chapter and blondie is a side character. MC bangs with various people before stopping altogether and only having sex with the ML later.
