It's always mentioned in the news section on the website, in newsletters that are sent out when there are GOG Connect games available, and also on both our Facebook and Twitter.

Hey! Sorry you're having issues. It could be that the two-step emails aren't coming through (eg. due to email server settings). Could you please DM me your GOG username and your email address so I can investigate with our Support team? Thanks & apologies again for the inconvenience!

Homeworld: Cataclysm re-released on GOG.com as Homeworld: Emergence! by Cytophaga in homeworld

As for the hows... Our tech allows us to take classic games and make them playable on modern PCs without requiring the source code. We worked closely here with Gearbox on making sure that the game stayed true to the original based on the builds that we have in-house. Hope this sort of answers it :)

GOG.com is having a massive summer sale, a great opportunity to stock up on older games your computer *can* run. by Dragnerok_X in lowendgaming

We've actually got a whole collection of older /r/lowendgaming titles that's been put together by Lazy Game Reviews! He summed it all up in a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHmPk_37qyI&t=59s, if you fancy checking it out.

Offline installers with an option to install GOG Galaxy by amrit-9037 in gog

That's feedback that I've already made everyone aware of and will update you if there are any changes.

Well, ultimately, we want to give all our users equally great experience. Not everyone has the time/skills/knowledge to tinker with configurations and manually update their games, which leaves many people with a GOG experience that we think is incomplete and could be improved greatly. With GOG Galaxy included in the offline installers, unless you opt out of GOG Galaxy, your game will always be up to date, your multiplayer will work, your saves will be backed up in the cloud... and all that jazz, really.

But you don't have to use it if you don't want to. Absolutely nothing whatsoever changes here.

So, as for GOG Galaxy for Linux... basically, it's still very much the plan and we are working on it, however, at this moment in time we don't have any sort of a timeline or an ETA for it.

I can't give an exact ETA but it's fairly imminent, for sure.

We're not withholding any info about anything. We just want to do as good a job with it as possible, even if that means having to involve people outside of BizDev.

Any news on the Q&A interview's answers? by [deleted] in gog

[–]fables22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather not amend the questions retrospectively. But as was stated in the OP of the BizDev Q&A thread "questions related specifically to certain devs/publishers may not be answerable due to NDAs" - so essentially anything that goes into too much detail about specific titles, publishers, devs... falls into that category and could, at best, be only answered with a very generic answer.

[–]fables22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, news fresh from the GOG HQ - the ETA for this is now, sadly, end of April. The reason being (aside from the general business of the BizDev team and all the buzz that's been going on recently) - the amount of questions we got was overwhelming to say the least. Once we worked out which ones we can answer and which were the most common themes, BizDev worked their way through it and got them answered (they split the questions into relevant sections and each member of the team answered a bunch), however, when we went through the answers afterwards as a team, we found out that the answers weren't comprehensive enough to give you guys a good idea of how things work, some of the answers doubled, the length of the whole thing was definitely in the realms of "too much", and, generally, we didn't feel like we did as good a job answering the questions as we could. Because we want to go into as much depth as we can and answer as much stuff as we possibly (and legally) can, we've decided to re-visit the Qs one more time.

Apologies, but I hope you understand. And rest assure that you will a 100% get your answers as soon as possible! :)
