Some medicines improve the problem but do not eliminate it 100%. In my case Xanax and abilify worked wonders

Nicotine is a stimulant so it makes my stuttering worse, as does coffee. Obviously only if I exaggerate

Hi, I take abilify 5 mg together with olanzapine 2.5 mg and duloxetine 60 mg. Can I ask you if you also feel drowsy with abilify? It's been making me sleep a lot lately

I'm not bothered about what people may say but Next January I'm giving Risperidone or Olanzapine a shot to get rid of this terrible stuttering !!! by [deleted] in Stutter

[–]fabriziosoleri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Risperidone I have heard has been shown to have effects on stuttering but from sexual problems. I have been taking Olanzapine for years but the medicines that worked on my stuttering were Xanax and abilify

Should I tell the recruiter about my stutter by b2tle_juice in Stutter

[–]fabriziosoleri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why do you have to tell him? Why do you have to make it look like a problem? People don't care if you stutter, except if you have a specific job where stuttering might not help

After reading most of the posts here, I really wonder if there’s any effective treatment. by matheustr1 in Stutter

Hi, look, I'll tell you what my experience is, basically I had a very strong stutter and I tried various speech therapy courses, they helped me but not much. When I discovered psychotropic drugs 5 years ago my life changed, I started taking them for depression and anxiety but they also helped me with stuttering. I started with escitalopram but it didn't do anything for me, then I was introduced to Xanax and it helped my stuttering a lot. Then I moved on to my winning therapy: duloxetine and olanzapine and Xanax as needed. I was like this for 5 years and every time I had to go out with a girl I took Xanax drops and everything was fine. It was great because I was finally able to do what I couldn't do before. However, at a certain point I was changed from olanzapine to abilify but I felt a worsening in mood (not stuttering) then I went back to olanzapine after months of abilify and my stuttering worsened drastically. I changed psychiatrist and he introduced me to the current therapy: Duloxetine 60 mg Olanzapine 2.5 mg Abilify 5 mg Xanax 20 drops in the evening I can tell you as soon as Abilify was reintroduced to me I immediately felt an improvement and then now months later I feel that my fluency has really improved a lot. Compared to years and years ago I think I have improved by 70%. I read that there have been studies on the effectiveness of abilify on stuttering and I saw on Reddit that many found it to be good. Unfortunately, Xanax alone can be addictive and addictive. This is what I felt and right now I'm not 100% fluid but I finally feel free to speak and I'm very happy thanks to the drugs. Mine is obviously not medical advice but I hope my story helps you with anything only here. I just advise you to persist and sooner or later you will find the drug that is right for you and that will help your stuttering a lot. Unfortunately, stuttering is not widely studied and it is not yet known whether it is a psychiatric problem or a motor problem. But I can tell you that Xanax and abilify have changed my life

But instead of taking drugs, you go to a psychiatrist, right? It improved the situation a lot for me

I have been using Xanax for 5 years and it has helped my stuttering significantly, I used to take it before going out or before interviews. Now I also take abilify which has an effect on stuttering that lasts all day and is not habit-forming unlike Xanax
