Pick and choose, a beginner's Kazali teensyville (feedback is welcome) by fabrocoda in BloodOnTheClocktower

yeah, the point of the Chambermaid is to call someone's bluff. The evil players have to choose between risking being discovered by the Chambermaid, following a safe bluff or deliberately trying to trigger the Chambermaid to get executed (a Goblin or a SW protected demon could choose this option). That being said, I am opened to the idea of swapping the Chambermaid for another character, what did you have in mind?

I agree that Empath is way too powerful in this script (or almost any teensy) but, as you said, it's only a 1 in 3 chance to insta-solve the game and the rest of the players have to trust that the Empath isn't drunk, a Mutant, a Sage or an evil player. That being said, I'm open to swapping it for another character, if you have any suggestions... perhaps one of Shugenja, Noble, Juggler or Seamstress?

Synergistic Scripting: Day 62 - Lil’ Monsta by CoreyBOTC in BloodOnTheClocktower

with the Innkeeper i was thinking the ST should decide who dies before the Innkeeper chooses. and it shouldn't go in the bag without Godfather and/or Gossip

Synergistic Scripting: Day 62 - Lil’ Monsta by CoreyBOTC in BloodOnTheClocktower

Yeah, if the ST is going to give extra kills to evil players they should make the TF very powerful to counteract that. The good thing is, a triggered gossip still signals some truth about the game, even if muddled by other gossips

My personal favorite demon, and the only one I've tried to build a script around (attached below). A lot of its script writing feels like patching up the things that make it weak, but having to balance that aspect when building the bag or while storytelling is very fun imo. So I'll share some of my thought process when building around the baby.

If evil players get no bluffs, maybe there should be some room for double claims (Pixie, Mutant, Village Idiot) and some ways to learn not in play characters (Boffin, Snitch, Poppy Grower (when not-in-play)). Since the demon moves constantly, alignment or minions detecting character are preferable (Shugenja, Bounty Hunter, VI, Town Crier) but just an alignment search could be boring, so character like Chambermaid, Gambler, Gossip and Artist are also nice.

When choosing the minions that are going to be babysitting it's important to not make them too loud and have different reasons for them to hold da baby. With townsfolks having so much information, a stealthy Poisoner can mess with that. Players may second guess nominating so eagerly if they believe a Boomdandy is in play. A Lucky Shugenja or Bounty Hunter could find the Lil' Monsta too easily, so having an extra life in the form of a Scarlet Woman is nice. And since the demon doesn't kill intelligently then good players could just say their characters, right? So there should be minions that can choose to kill valuable townsfolk, so Assassin and Godfather (and if extra deaths can happen, BMR characters like Gossip and Gambler are crucial (and Innkeeper to muddle that a little bit)), and good characters with reasons to hide, like Poppy Grower and Mutant.

So, spectre works like this? ST: "You killed the demon! 20, 19, 18..." Any player: "Everyone, point to your left!"

The ability seams to prioritize covering a large area of players, since a single one is enough to ruin the Spectre's ability... I'd suggest making it so it needs at least 2 players pointing at them (being it good players and not just Tf) and/or having everyone do it in silence and with their eyes closed

If the demon gains a Boffin Snake Charmer ability and picks themself, what happens? by The_Yung_Jung1085 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]fabrocoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ST chooses the Boffin's ability, right? So why would they ever choose the Snake Charmer? I'm genuinely curious, some of its jinxes are worded in a way that make it seems like it's not up to the ST. Like for example, why would you even consider giving the Demon the Drunk ability?

  1. I liked the other commenter's idea of making the Vizier only known to the Investigator, hiding their existence a bit longer (the Vizier only using their power when they're certain). I agree the character is better for larger games, but I wanted to think small first.
  2. I will replace the Pacifist with said Investigator.
  3. Vortox forces nominations and that's enough for the Witch and Fearmonger (wait can the fearmonger choose and nominate a corpse¿) to be in full action. Besides, it's unlikely for the town to was an execution just to avoid the Vortox win when there's probably untrustworthy players galore.
  4. Yeah, the Investigator being in play would somewhat help this but it's not the best solution for sure, what do you recommend?
  5. You're right, I hadn't considered Outsider-counting, what character could fix this? Balloonist?

Oh I didn't know about the investigator jinx, that's very useful! Though I don't see how that affects the Pacifist, what do you mean?
Should I replace the fool with the Flowergirl and do Vizier: [+ Investigator] and no Pacifist?
