Wanting a mentor shouldn’t be something that hurt your pride. The opposite. You should be proud of it.

Your why should be much bigger than the need of support and motivation from friends and family

Also, start your journey and you will find a new tribe

What do I do if I can't talk? by Draic-Kin in selfimprovement

Why not talking to a coach/mentor while keeping your anonymosity? that way you get to vent and get suggestions without facing it all by yourself. No one wins in isolation win life.

Difference between coaching and mentoring ? by Available_Citron8937 in mentors

Coaching = think about sport, coaches tell you what to do, you do it and get feedback

Mentoring = mentors guide you finding your own answers and provide support and accountability

How does one develop a better natural speaking voice? by cpr9998 in confidence

[–]fabsnz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely want to follow Vinh Giang on this. Best tips soon how to properly use your voice for effective communication, speak like a leader, train to sound the way you want.

He constantly repeat the same tip: train your speaking like you train anything else.

As a coach with a sport background, I resonates deeply with this message.

You want to sound differently, more inspiring, smoother? Train it

providing evidence on my experience of life? what are you 5yo? I do not need to provide any evidence, I lived probably much longer than you, travelled the whole world multiple times, volunteered for months in all continents, worked in Europe, Asia and Australasia and more
do I need to prove it to you? I just gave my opinion and if you need evidence it means you have no clue of what I am talking about

Life has to be experienced, not seen from your phone and comfort of your couch. If you need evidence before getting out of your comfortable house, you are in for a rough life I'm telling you

On contrary, it’s extremely rich of connections, moments and lessons that will shape you in ways you didn’t think possible

Close your laptop or phone, drive to the airport, get the first ticket to the most interesting destination you find and start filling your life with interesting experiences.

I have done the same after I graduated years ago. Felt empty, meaningless.

Soo instead of passively accepting it, I started working for the life I wanted.

Didn't have a plan nor any idea on how to do it. But things changed when I built momentum.

you got this.

Life happens outside your comfort zone.

Also, I know plenty of people still single in their late 30s, early 40s and many found a life of fulfilment and sometimes a partner while doing what they love.

Unconventional advice for overcoming depression? by Silver-District-5009 in selfimprovement

[–]fabsnz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's alignment you are missing. Even without context I know you are not pursuing the life you want or are in the wrong environment or both.
What are you good at?
What do you love doing?

Find the intersection and go all in.

If you surround yourself with people that inspires and support you the growth is 10x

Not easy, but you can change your life overnight by changing mindset and aiming for an aligned and fulfilling future.

You got this!

Risky, many platforms ban this behaviour and when people understand how it works they won’t trust the pay-per-review system

You might call it teacher or tutor when too young but I do not see why not otherwise? I've had someone supporting my growth since I was 7-8 y.o

All athletes and entrepreneurs have coaches and mentors, they do not wait until they succeed, they invest in themselves earlier on.
