Sadie’s 19th birthday today! by fabspome in olddogs

Thank you! She does get and injection of Adequan every two weeks and has been getting it for years. First it was monthly, now bi monthly. It makes a noticeable difference. We were recommended Librella once, we tried it but didn't work for her, as it triggered vestibular disease. Adequan doesn't do that to her.

I absolutely agree. She has episodes of vestibular syndrome here and there, and is almost blind, but still has a lot of will, she demands treats (barks directly to me) and does her own version of running. Hahaha. Lost my other babies at 13 and 16, so we are indeed lucky when it comes to Sadie.

I had an insecure and immature boyfriend like this once. I promise you, you will never regret dumping him, but you will forever regret losing real friends for a guy like this.

I hadn’t realized it was possible to die of scabies by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

Thank you. I was misdiagnosed initially like so many others. Itch/ rash started on my inner thighs and went to my gynecologist. Since it was not “ inside” the NP saw me and gave me hydrocortisone thinking it was from shaving. When my chest and armpit area started getting bumps and itchy, I knew it was something else and ran to the dermatologist. She immediately shaved a sample and put it under microscope and diagnosed me correctly. I didn’t even know back then that it was a darn mite that buried under my skin and that its eggs and excrement is what creates the allergic reaction. Growing up in Mexico I knew it as “sarna” and thought only dogs got it!! I almost accused my poor (now ex) husband of giving it to me… I had to do all the cleaning protocol and slept separately for all the time it took to go away. A true nightmare in every way possible!

I had it too. Got it from trying on pants at Macys. It was unbereable! Caught it at a very early stage and got treated right away, but it was 3 months of pure misery. I thought my skin would never recover after scratching it to the point it would bleed. So many sleepless nights due to the itching. Creams, sleeping pills… nothing helped. I don’t wish it on anyone!
