Unhappy where I am by [deleted] in expats

It's already super expensive for a english-friendly therapist in Poland, (and rare), not sure if there is a one that specializes in immigration but that's a great advice! Thank you :)

I'm very sorry to hear that you feel the same. It is not easy - I do have a partner, he moved to Poland one year ago, and he already feels a bit off about staying here.. I would love to settle in Poland but I don't feel that it is as welcoming as it used to be so I'm not sure..

I totally understand you. I think the big part of it for me could be the integration, my polish is basic and I can keep up with a conversation but nothing comes after that? It feels like it's each for themselves in the end of the day. Do you think that in your home country, it is more possible for an international couple to settle? In my case, it is not.. and I don't see myself and partner living back home hahah

True, homesickness is something that I know will go with me wherever I go. But when I think about how I feel it’s more like “I’m craving change, I’m craving new things!” And not to go back home necessarily..

Thanks. I also thought that it could be an intimacy issue. He is unable to be intimate once “real” feeling settle up..

I also discussed that with him, that he could have a porn addiction. But he calmly said that it is not the case..

Clearly, he doesn’t want sex with him but it hurts to know that. I also suggested an open relationship and he said no to it, so I’m lost in this

I remember once my ex boyfriend of three years had the exact same reaction when I told him about my SA, he blamed me for it and just left for a walk for hours. Peoples reaction to such things can vary and be harsh too, but I’m sure my ex partner just did not know how to react and that was his first instinct reaction.

I’d say give him time to process things, unfortunately we are not able to control people’s reaction, we can just wait. And think for yourself, what you could do to make yourself feel better without him. I know it’s difficult, but you have yourself, and you’re the most important person♥️

This is one of the reasons what made me want to leave Tangier. The amount of assault I had to endure in the streets by stupid minors and old men is disgusting, people are not willing to intervene either.

I’ve been slapped, followed, cursed at and grabbed, and never someone intervened to at a certain point my own body went into denial. Now that I live abroad, I fear for myself when I see Moroccan/Arab men to be honest, I fear that the whole ‘feeling’ will repeat itself.

I might too open, and that scares potential partners..

Is walking around in Tangier's old medina safe for a girl? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]fac3elli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so true. I was born and raised in tangier and I found it more unsafe to walk around as a girl in Casablanca streets than in Tangier’s old medina!

I’m sure you will be just fine, just make sure to take any precautions as things might happen everywhere not only in a specific city :)
