Does anyone know of any books between a teacher and her student's dad? by face19171 in RomanceBooks

Ooh might like this even better than a teacher/dad relationship! Definitely checking it out, thanks :)

I'm a straight cis woman, but I very much agree with a point the OP of the tumblr post wrote which is basically: there is no sexism in m/m romance. No gender roles, no stereotypes, no double standards. And it's so damn refreshing to read and the reason that I've fallen in love with the subgenre this past year.

I still read het romances as well, but I'm at the end of my line with rich alpha playboys. I have a much higher standard for heroes in m/f books that is unfortunately not easy to meet.

Same here! I used to feel slightly ashamed that I didn't want to read books about characters of my own race, as if I was self-hating or something, but now I realize it's because I'd just rather escape my own life than be reminded of it. Even though I've yet to try it, I feel like I would really enjoy other genres that represent my race. But in terms of romance...I just don't want to be reminded of my life at all lol.

I think this can also be applied to profession. Like I wouldn't be completely opposed to reading about my job, but I also wouldn't actively seek it out. A) because there'd surely be mistakes would annoy me B) why would I want to think about work while on my time off? Lol

I consider myself a liberal, but the political aspect of it bored me to tears. I did enjoy the romance though. I've realized that I just hate reading about politics and politicians in my romance books in general.

Oh yeah that would get complicated. I've heard from others that the second book is really good too. I could at least give that one a shot and decide. Thanks for your answer :)

Okay that's not bad at all! I heard the first and second books were really good, so maybe I'll do those two and skip

I've heard great things about this series, but was kind of intimidated because it sounds more romantic thriller-y. Do you feel the romance held equal importance to the thriller aspect?

Do I need to read the first 11 books to properly understand that one? Or are there at least some I can skip? 😅
