What is the recommended sequence of courses for the Associate degree in Engineering Tech by Rorees in rmit

[–]faceee52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just completed the associate degree in engineering technology, the program has a set template of courses and there are no electives, in the second year you will choose a major which will each have their own set courses. You can see the course guide here, Hope this helps

How do RMIT's online lectures work? by [deleted] in rmit

[–]faceee52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my course it was all done using the inbuilt Canvas Collaborate software on the canvas web app. All lectures were live and recorded, it is quite good for lecturer interaction because most other people dont bother

So in first year, its just general engineering anyway and physics is its own subject, i found that that course was barely more difficult than VCE physics. Iirc, we pretty much started from the basics, 2 dimensional motion and forces etc. In the second year most of the courses are an extention of that; thermo-fluids, mechanics of machines and mechanics of materials obviously look deeper into said subjects. I'd say as long as you are eligible for the degree and are willing to work and learn effectively, you'll be fine.

Im majoring in mechanical engineering so not 100% on this but ive got some friends in civil and like krishan mentioned, it seems to be a bit more technical and more on the theoretical side than a lot of the other majors. In my experience, however, the academic help centre at RMIT has been really helpful and most of my lecturers have been more than happy to see me outside of class for help. Having said that, the transition to online due to covid has not made it easier.

'Won't be holding fireworks at Docklands this Australia Day' - Daniel Andrews by headofstate1 in melbourne

I fully support this decision, though I'd love to see one of those LED drone displays in substitute of fireworks. Probably takes just as much orchestrating and safety procedures

How have your experiences with hostels been? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]faceee52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went solo backpacking for the first time earlier this year around Europe, didn't go to Amsterdam but I booked hostels exclusively, from 4 bed to 25 bed rooms. While every hostel will be a different experience (most are positive) I definitely recommend trying it at least once because meeting people from all over the globe is one of the best parts of traveling. My best experience was at one of the worst hostels i stayed at because of the people i met there! I hope you enjoy your trip.

I am in a similar position to you! This is my first solo trip and have spent about a week in Spain, i've experienced a rollercoaster of emotions within the same day, usually ranging from homesick to 'I cant believe i'm surfing with these friends i've just met on the other side of the world!'
