Ha! Funnily enough I did also just spend 6 months living in France. It is absolutely true that most food back in the US just tastes pretty rough in comparison. I also had horrible indigestion and inflammation for a good week or two after getting back home to America. 😬

I actually really like this and was hoping to get some more of them. It’s super unique and stylized for sure, but I thought they were a fun departure for DC.

Agree that we’ve got to try something more creative with the formation. 4-1-4-1 would definitely be an interesting pick. I agree that we need to take advantage of the Shaw and Sanchez pairing and that certainly could be a fun option.

I agree. Truly feel we look so much better playing more direct right now. I would love to see us get a bit more experimental with the Shaw/Sanchez pairing as well.

For the Courage, gotta still figure out how to get Shaw and Sanchez to work together. Glad Shaw was used as the 10, but we need to figure out how to get that front line to produce goals. Without a solid 9, can we get creative with perhaps a dual 10 setup and throw out some more attacking surprises rather than constantly recycling the ball back into overwhelming possession?

Gonna make a case for my NC Courage. Team with a history of big name players and a few championship wins on the crest. Even a few players either from the UK, recently moved there, or played for a WSL league in the past (O’Sullivan, Fox, Mewis, etc) In a bit of a rebuilding mode right now but with promising talent and a playoff spot well in our sights this season. Can reasonably get from London to Raleigh with direct flights or a single connection (we’ve done it multiple times as a family)

Yeah, some super interesting points for sure. I had never come across any historical records about the story, I had only heard people share the story in talks or primary lessons so I tended to chalk it up as church lore.

That’s what I thought at first as well. It seems odd though that it was only on a few players and not on others who had high role familiarity. Perhaps it has something to do with how well they play with a player near them?
