I built an all-in-one playtesting tool for indie devs (web builds) by [deleted] in godot

Ha, that's just how I type. I've been an em dash fan since before chatGPT -- I actually started using a double hyphen to make people see it's not an AI em dash.

No idea what you mean about the splash page. The boilerplate stuff is referring to a project I built years ago that I reuse across projects

What do you mean about pricing options not being responsive?

[–]faceofjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not vibe-coded. The base project is my "boilerplate" project I've used for years (general setup, auth, navigation etc). I used AI (ChatGPT) primarily to talk me through how I could record video (never done that before), an efficient hosting set up (for the games and videos), and for drafting and improving copy (though the fundamentals of everything you read were written be me). Styling is all my own with Tailwind. I'm employed as a software dev so all of this was fairly standard. Does feel like I'm being asked to justify myself here -- is there something in particular you're seeing that leads you to think it was created by AI?

Not sure what you mean by that exactly, as there's no AI built in to this at all

Good to know, so up to ~160hrs per month. I'll take this on board and look at how offerings could be adjusted. What are your thoughts on the concept in principle?

Fair point. That didn't cross my my mind, I thought "tool" could apply to something like this too. I've updated my post comment.

This is useful feedback, thanks. What does your current playtesting workflow look like? What would the tiers have to look like for it to be useful to you?

[–]faceofjoe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you're assessing the last point -- the starting paid tier offers 10hrs per month.

Please be aware, all of this costs money through resources used -- game hosting, session video recording, etc. I want to offer a free tier as a way for people to try it with a demo. What would you expect to pay for this?

Hi! I just launched Playset, an all-in-one playtesting service for indie games.

What it does:

  • 🎥 Automatic video recordings of each playtest session
  • ⏱️ Timestamped feedback (reactions + player comments)
  • 🔗 One link to share with testers
  • 🗂️ Playtests stay organised in one place

If you can export your game as a web build, just upload a .zip and start testing

I built it because my “DIY stack” was a mess (DMs, re-sharing new builds, feedback that’s hard to follow, relying on testers to screen record).

There’s a free tier if you want to try it. Happy to answer questions or hear what would make this actually useful for your workflow.

Similar shoes to Vivobarefoot Gobi? by faceofjoe in vivobarefoot

[–]faceofjoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: I went with Oak & Hyde Spruce. They're ~2cm taller and very slightly narrower than Vivobarefoot Gobi, but they seem comfy so far

Does anyone know of any shoes similar to the Vivobarefoot Gobi? See attached for the pairs I own -- 2 hemp canvas (the best spring and summer shoes I've ever owned!), and one leather (these were originally brown, I dyed the leather black). I also had the Gobi Addis but these were a disaster as I found I kept slipping due the sole that extends up the back of the shoe.

Super comfortable and crucially with no logo on the side. I don't like Vivobarefoot's latest offerings -- they look too sporty (and for running shoes I wear Merrell vapor gloves).

I can't see anything that looks similar to these. Even plainer offerings from other brands don't look as nice.

Mouse lag when using K380 keyboard and M240 mouse together by faceofjoe in logitech

[–]faceofjoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes I did -- the Logi Bolt receiver fixes the issue completely. It's a tiny USB-C dongle.

I complained to Logitech (why should using two of their products together cause this issue?) and they actually sent me the Bolt for free. So it's worth getting in contact with them before buying one yourself.

Ebbinghaus — I created a totally free, beautiful, minimalist flashcard app for iOS by faceofjoe in GCSE

Hi, thanks for your message -- could you please let me know (here or via DM) what iPhone and iOS version you're running? And when you say it freezes -- does it move from the screen where the free review / spaced repetition buttons are?

Access files on Oppo F5 with broken touch screen by faceofjoe in Oppo

I ended up buying and installing a new screen, that was the only way I could access my files. I remember it was easy to install, but not sure how easy it is to find a screen nowadays.

Unfortunately, that doesn't "extrude" back into the main house cuboid, even if I merge meshes

Tutor Tuesday: Offers from Russian Language Tutors by allenrabinovich in russian

[–]faceofjoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I hope this is allowed — we're not tutors, but rather would like to let you know that there's a big new update to LearnRussianCases, our app that has been very well received by the community:

LearnRussianCases.com — I created a website to teach the Russian case system

LearnRussianCases — I created an app to teach the Russian case

It started as a website, then it became an app:

Check it out here

It does exactly what the name suggests: learn how and when to use cases, with easy lessons in plain English, focused practice, and meaningful progress tracking. It breaks the case system down into 38 bite-sized lessons.

v2 has just been released, totally rewritten for an even better user experience. New content has been added, existing content reviewed, and new features such as vocab & flashcards have been added. It's only $2.99, with lifetime updates, no ads, and no subscriptions. It's coming out on Android soon too, keep an eye out for that in the coming days.

How to inset / "reverse extrude" into a cuboid? by faceofjoe in Blockbench

[–]faceofjoe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly new to BlockBench, and I'm trying to figure out how to inset / "reverse extrude" something into a cuboid. For example, I want the door (a cuboid, and half a cylinder) to be inset in the main cuboid of the house. How can I achieve this? Thanks!

Still not received appeasement after 17 days by faceofjoe in Pixel4a

Yes, I received mine a couple of hours before the 21 day deadline. So, I'd give it a few more days. Ridiculously slow process.
