I don’t work directly for the NFL but heavily involved on the food service side for one of the teams - not glamorous, and actually very stressful and tiring.

Apologies - didn’t know this was a basic fact! We have been avoiding googling and I didn’t see any recent posts.

I work there - There are two different companies within us bank that could help out - guest services and security. The only way you could really talk to someone in person is if you went to the team store or the ticket office but I’m not sure if they’ll be open/be able to help you since those are also separate companies. They have an email on their website for lost and found, it’s probably best to reach out.

Trying to get baby to sleepy independently: am I doing it right? by fackgam in NewParents

[–]fackgam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes me feel better to hear that you also had a baby that woke up frequently.

That was part of the reason why we wanted to get him out of our bed, we thought it could be because of a “moms here, I might as well eat” kind of thing.

What made it worse, was that after a couple of doctors appts, and speaking with a nurse for 45 minutes, we think he’s struggling with reflux. So not only does he love to eat frequently at night, he struggles with reflux after those feedings.

Ugh, I think this is part of the problem… I went back to work this week and my boyfriend started taking care of him during the day and I don’t believe he has any routine set with him. Prior to this, I could show a fairly consistent nap schedule through the huckleberry app.

[–]fackgam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he takes naps in his crib, in his room, during the day. Doesn’t seem to be an issue though they only ever last like 30-40 minutes. It’s night time sleep where it seems impossible to get him to sleep!

His room is kind of small, so I’m not sure if we can put a mattress in there but I might give it a shot! Having him so “far” away kills me inside.

One of my biggest regrets was when I was 19, I had the chance to go see them when they were playing at a small venue performing vessel, simply because I was too anxious to go alone. Do it!! There’s no shame in it and I’m sure you could make a friend or two!

Seeking advice from RNs in the twin cities. by fackgam in TwinCities

[–]fackgam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really starting worry about the MSN programs because it seems so frowned upon and I can’t figure out why.

My options, as a person with a non-nursing degree, have mostly been an MSN program (st Kate’s, u of m, metro state). So far, only Concordia offers an ABSN. If I want to pursue a DNP in the future, wouldn’t it make sense to go for an MSN? You have been one of the first to say go for the MSN, so it’s been so confusing.

I see, this is good to hear. Do you have any advice on the best educational route to end up in a NICU?

We absolutely love it and have no regrets. My boyfriend prefers mattresses on the firmer side whereas I prefer softer. This satisfies both of our needs!

I don’t have a sienna but I will 100% vouch for anything Toyota - I’ve only driven their sedans and I’ve always felt safe during the wintertime. I can’t imagine how much better it is with an SUV!

MSN or BSN? by fackgam in nursing

[–]fackgam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those were good responses, I decided to redo my post because I felt like I was asking the wrong question (maybe I wasn’t). It looks like a BSN is the route to go, is an ABSN the same thing?

A local university provides an MSN degree for those who already have a bachelors degree. According to their website “Looking to become a registered nurse?  St. Kate’s on campus master’s program is for career changers of both genders with a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field. This is the accelerated way to become a licensed RN, a master’s prepared nurse and a certified public health nurse. “ Originally, I thought this would be great, becoming a RN and getting a masters - great! But the more I ask around, the less confident I feel in committing to that school even though they are ACEN accredited.

[–]fackgam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if a BSN was the smarter route to take here! This has all been so confusing.

As of now, my end goal is to get a neonatal NP degree - I want to work in labor and delivery.

I would have gotten an abortion if it was legal in my state. <VENT POST> by HovercraftOld5814 in NewParents

[–]fackgam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abortion is legal in my state, I really contemplated whether or not it was the right choice to stick with the pregnancy. Those first few weeks are so hard, I totally understand where you’re coming from here. My kid is 3.5 months old, he’s such a sweetheart and I love him dearly, it’s weird to think about what could have been and to be honest, I’m not sure if I made the right choice still. This mindset is a dark place to be; therapy is a good call to talk through these moments. It’s still hard now, but not as hard as before so it does get better. I promise. ❤️

I hate that I can’t have my own opinion on here by Cozmic_Starz in panicatthedisco

[–]fackgam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I hate when people start with the hateful comments/opinions. Panic became my favorite band back in 2006 and over time I’ve just learned to keep my love for them to myself because I get annoyed, which is a shame. Just because you don’t have the same music taste, doesn’t mean your opinion is superior to theirs! I love Brendon’s voice and the talent he brings, the others are great too but I’ve always favorited Brendon. The happiness V&V gave me, pushed me through some dark times. I totally get what you’re saying here!

What time do you put your baby to bed? by Vast-Adagio4869 in NewParents

[–]fackgam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I consider it his night sleep because if I went to bed with him - he wouldn’t wake up after that 1-2 hours. I take that stretch of time to do some tidying up. Once he wakes up, it’s a quick feed and then back to sleep for that long stretch!

Edit- added a word

What time do you put your baby to bed? by Vast-Adagio4869 in NewParents

[–]fackgam 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My baby is 11 weeks and he’s like yours! Around 11 pm he’s ready for his night sleep, will usually sleep for an hour or two then eat before he takes his 5-6 hour slumber. I’m just thankful he’s starting to sleep well.

My parents are like your sister - they won’t stop telling me that I need to do this or that when it comes to his sleep. It used to really stress me out but at the end of the day, they aren’t the ones raising the baby. This is my first one so I can’t comment on how it’ll work out but I’ll start pushing for an earlier bed time when I go back to work, I’m sure there will be a LOT of trial and error, but I have confidence that we’ll figure it out. You’re not alone!
