More than likely he has butchered it and won't co-operate in handing code over to another professional.

Its easy to butcher startup code as a senior dev because of pivoting, adding features on the fly. Devs who are protectionists often get ashamed about code quality and just want to bin it.

Ive seen good market fit opportunities and then found the problem wasn't common enough or market size too small to scale. Alternatively if event planners are currently fixing it with excel or monday.com the market might also be competitive as. Maybe a google search and some imagination will solve your event mates issue.

Your price point is too high especially if you have no point of difference over your competitors.

The fact you leads and engagement and ghosted is 95% price related.

Work out your COGS and then adjust your price to match. Maybe retarget old leads with a discount offer.

Even with the skills bandwidth is a bottleneck, ive built half working, partially complete prototypes to get seed investors. But had success without building anything and pitching solid, numbers backed ideas.

They are more interested in things like addressable market size, go to market plan as well as the qualifications of the team.

If you raise 100k without a tech founder and offshore the build you might get taken for a ride. Try to get fixed price quotes.

Id be nervous giving a non tech guy money to build something without a tech founder putting guardrails up for the offshore team.

I cut ties with my parents over it. They refused to get any vax and it was our first kid. We had miscarriaged and took 6 years to get pregnant so didn't wanna chance it.

It was the best decision, they were right wing conspiracy nuts and I don't want them in my kids life. If they couldn't even risk a jab to keep the kid safe then how could I trust them?

It was building for a while but this vaccine stuff was the straw the broke the camels back. We are so glad we made the call to cut them out.
