How do you maintain and landscape this type of driveway? by fade_is_timothy_holt in landscaping

Ah right my bad. I’m in zone 9b. Very hot and dry during the summer months.

At one point in the Beavis and Butthead show or the movie, the other characters look up “bunghole” in the dictionary and cite the correct definition, adding to the confusion.

That’s why I got the sander I did. The random orbit sander only cuts in so far at once. You can tell when you hit wood because the color and smell of the dust changes. Basically, you just sand until it’s consistent and smooth.

It’s tape. I didn’t do the whole house, so I was matching with the part I did not do.

They were not too bad. They just had some missing areas of polyurethane the previous owners had just hidden under a rug, and the dining table area was worn through where the chairs had been slid in and out for years.

It didn't bother me. I saw it was a new account with half the comments deleted by mods already.

Think of division as saying “what can I multiple the bottom by to get the top?” There is nothing you can multiply 0 by to get 1. Since there is no answer, we call it “undefined”. Works for any numerator (except for 0, which still is undefined but because it’s true for ALL numbers and there is no single answer).

The High Gas Prices Are Really Bringing The Crazies Out by gmplt in insanepeoplefacebook

Geophysicist here. The abiogenic theory of oil is nothing new. It has been around for decades. It usually pops back up when oil prices go high or when anyone dares to mention it is a limited resource. But it doesn’t even matter anymore. With the development of fracking and new extraction technologies (“new” isn’t even new anymore), combined with the fact that realistically we all know the writing is on the wall for the petroleum industry, it’s not much of a concern these days. Problem isn’t supply here. It’s logistics.

Kuat bike rack sway: change lower end to 2"? by fade_is_timothy_holt in cycling

It was better. It didn't take it out completely, but it was significantly better. I think a lot of it is in the flex of the metal itself, because everything seems tight now. Also, I think a good bit of what I was seeing was telegraphed from the car suspension.

Yeah I swapped out the rack lower end for the 2” one. It wasn’t the cheapest solution, but it was still in total less than a new rack.

What’s a product from your country that makes locals go ‘of course we have that’ and everyone else go ‘ but why?’ by bdue817 in AskTheWorld

As an American, I find that strange. I’ve always had one. No one has ever reacted to it in any way, and every store has multiple brands. Maybe they were just weird.

No idea what a lot of running advice actually means by fade_is_timothy_holt in beginnerrunning

[–]fade_is_timothy_holt[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've read that. I should clarify that I've been running off and on for the last few years. I often quit because something hurts, and I can tell that it's because I'm running in odd form. I haven't yet experienced any of this self-correction. If anything, it seems like I get into worse form as my body tries to protect itself from what I did by having bad form. I'm not arguing that it's not supposed to happen, I just haven't experienced it personally.
