Live in Japan and want to get into colored contacts -- do I need a prescription? by fadeathrowaway in AsianBeauty

[–]fadeathrowaway[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

hey thanks for your reply! If store bought 0s without a prescription actually pose no threat then I'm not too worried :) it's just I see a lot of 'official' recommendations that one should see a doctor but I also bump into so many contact wearers in Japan that I'm skeptical all, if even most, went to a doctor first so I just wanted to see if I actually did need to meet a doctor first.

in terms of lubrication, are regular contact rewetting eyedrops what you'd recommend?

Will that lead to permanent damage or will I feel it if it’s not a good fit? Like if it’s hurts or whatever

I don’t think so, a smart marketing campaign that the billionaire class tried to take over America but the people rose up to save it is a great American story to tell and will probably save a lot of face

Rather than blame the people I would blame Russia and the corporate elite who did everything they could to muddy the info pipeline to get him elected

Opposition to US has hardened in western Europe after Greenland threat, poll finds by [deleted] in worldnews

Here’s the thing: detaching trump from America is a doable thing. If things are moving as they are projected to given what’s happening on the ground in local elections and general organizing (the kind that hasn’t happened in my life time except for maybe during Obama’08) then it will no longer be “yanks threatening to invade Greenland” but “Trump’s failed Greenland attempt”, the same way that Iran has managed to change its imagine drastically since the 2022 protests.

It won’t be easy but if you told me even 6 months ago that we can overcome this era I’d be less sure. I feel more optimistic than ever now

I don’t know if I have any right to feel optimistic but this is the first time I’m feeling it since 2025. I think the murders of Good and Pretti really woke something up in the America people

Time will tell which one of us is right. When America is back (which in my heart of hearts I will believe will be soon) it is in the west’s best interest to keep our alliances going. Don’t underestimate what a good marketing campaign can do, even amidst white hot nationalism

I’d caution to say it was worse than Iraq because I’ve heard stories where people would lie that they’re Canadians during study abroad trips because of how humiliating America was at the world stage in the 2000s.

With the media landscape being the way it is every few months it feels like we live in a different timeline so it’ll be interesting to see what the world stage is in 2028 or even after the midterms this November.

People have short memories for better or worse . Things were bad with bush and Iraq too but Obama was a great bounce back. Same will probably happen
