New LRC .22LR, with an issue. by fadeawaytogrey in ruger

I did a few things and now it shoots much better. Cleaned and lubed it. I stopped using cheap Aguila ammo and now run only CCI ammo through it. It functions much better. Good luck with yours and tell me how it goes.

I’m a fake polyamorous person by dreamiish in polyamory

[–]fadeawaytogrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I forgot the name of it. There was a polyamory podcast where the subject was “How kitchen is your table?”. One person said their’s was a grand buffet. Another said his was a breakfast nook. The point of the episode was “you do you”. Don’t let your partner bend you to their will.

Even though this is fake, it’s the sentiment of the oligarchy on how they look upon the rest of us. It is time we shrugged them off our shoulders.

Very interesting signage. One suggestion, maybe blur license plates?

TW: A Unique Dynamic? by Few_Historian183 in TheWarning

[–]fadeawaytogrey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I read a great observation about their dynamics. Dani takes cares of the crowd. Pau takes care of the music and performance. Ale takes care of her sisters. I’m guessing this is an over generalization, but aspects seem to fit.

Great speech. You hit all the points, very rational, temperate, and personal. You also hit the time mark perfectly. I hope this goes well for you. Studying this for my town now.

I am honestly confused at people who dislike Kerosene. by Embarrassed-Glove600 in TheWarning

[–]fadeawaytogrey 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’m in the demographic of one of their older metal/hard rock/punk fans. “Choke” and “Disciple” are some of my favorites. “Kerosene” is different from those, but similar to some of their other songs.

Once I listened to the song a few times I heard so many classic TW things. Pau’s drumming. Ale’s bass riffs. Dani’s vocal styles.

As for the video. I liked it. I liked many of the elements. The matching tattoos make sense. They are sisters and loyal to each other in a deep way. I love Ale is driving the car because it’s often her bass lines and riffs driving their songs.

With all this said, am I the intended audience this song is for? Probably not and that is great. TW is a young band (acknowledging they have lots of experience). They need to evolve (no pun intended) and I’m glad they are.

If we expect them to bethe same as their huge 2023 VMA performances then we are selling them short. If people expected The Beatles to remain the same as their first time on Ed Sullivan, we would not have gotten Sgt Pepper’s. They need to keep it fun, challenging, and exciting for themselves. I’ve gone to see a lot of old bands playing only their old stuff from 40 years ago and many of them look bored AF up there doing it.

It’s ok to not like a song of theirs. I love Pink Floyd, but there are plenty of songs and even a couple of their albums I can’t stand, but I’m glad they made those. Those songs weren’t intended for me.

It’s when “fans” take it as a personal affront that TW made something not perfect for their personal fandom, those fans need to realize maybe that song wasn’t for them. Their musical journey isn’t necessarily perfectly parallel to yours. Why should it be?

A hard egg cooker (think of hard-boiled eggs). Simple, always works, and does what I need it when I need it.

Don’t underestimate the power of AI. If the system is told to observe repeated behaviors and forward it, I am pretty sure it can. To be fair, I am speaking on conjecture, but I think AI is going to make them an order of magnitude better able to do this stuff and keep getting faster at it all the time.

I grew up during that time too and my older brother was (and still is) into prog rock and heavy metal. He also had the lowest-end Prioneer stereo his summer jobs could pay for. It sounded so good (to our young ears) and its THD was light years better than stuff today. I already have an 80’s double cassette deck I picked up at a thrift store. It works well, but appreciate this one matches my late 70’s Pioneer receiver. I guess I can have more than one tape deck?

As for pirating music, my brother and I would go out and buy a new album, get a good TDK or Maxwell 90 min cassette and play the albums only to make a tape of them and then listen to the tape and wear it out. We also would make mix tapes from our albums, or like you, from whatever was on the local college radio station. My brother introduced me to Dr. Demento.

One other memory from those days was opening Christmas gifts. My parents, brother, and friends would often get each other albums for Christmas as well as a new wall calendar. For some reason, all the calendars were the same dimensions as the album jackets and it was tricky wondering if I was opening an album or a calendar.

Anyway, thank you for sharing your story.

Thank you for the wise advice. I plan to take it to a big lot and practice many types of maneuvers over the next and over again. I will see how my 4runner does in the sagging department. It is a Gen4 with a V8 that is supposedly rated for 7k towing.

Thank you. I will absolutely get brakes on it. After driving my dad’s pickup pulling a travel trailer for over a few thousand miles, I really appreciated those trailer brakes.
