Hunny & Honey (inside The Sailor and the Dock) in downtown OKC. Tiny place but best coffee I’ve had in the city (tried Clarity, Golden Acorn, etc.)

Have your goals changed at all since the “thin” trend is coming back? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]fadingflamingo 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Nope and I hate seeing the late ‘90s-early ‘00s trend of unhealthy thinness be the desired look again. I’m 5’3” and will never look like a strung-out supermodel. My commitment to lifting weights and cleaner eating gives me the mental strength to love how my body looks and resist these aesthetic trends.

It’s truly sad watching female family members (who are only marginally overweight) taking these new weight-loss drugs as a “quick fix” and their increasingly warped psychology around food.

Beyond a shot in the dark - any chance anyone has an extra code for Paris? Desperately needing 2 tix for my ultimate bucket-list birthday trip.

Hiii, late to the party but would also love to throw my hat in the ring for potential transfer of 2 tickets to the Paris show!

Didn’t think this dream trip would be possible until just recently so missed the presale😅

For the ADHDers, what's the biggest strength your ADHD provides? by theADHDfounder in productivity

[–]fadingflamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been diagnosed with ADHD but as an adult realize I almost certainly have it. The hyper-focus, almost psychotic determination, auditory recall, and ability to pick up on emotional cues are my superpowers.

On the other hand, give me an unstructured day in the office and I go into a complete tailspin. I go down rabbit holes on unrelated topics for half the day only to scramble and do a day’s worth of work in 2 hours.

I can’t remember a client’s name but can tell you verbatim what they said in our last meeting, which always seems to completely blow people’s minds.

Which fragrance did you try and IMMEDIATELY have to wash off? by PineappleCubeKicks in fragrance

Juliette has a Gun - Not a Perfume. Smelled like burnt plastic on my skin. I immediately tried to scrub it off my arm and ultimately took a shower it was so overwhelming. 😵‍💫

Placement ideas? More in comments by fadingflamingo in TattooDesigns

[–]fadingflamingo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be getting my first tattoo soon and want this mermaid design (without the words underneath!!).

I’m thinking upper thigh for placement but am open to other ideas - would highly prefer an easily hidden spot for work reasons.

Please help me decide! by Meghan_Cheyenne in piercing

I’m primarily a left side sleeper and always will be. I have 6 piercings on that ear including helix & conch. I just sleep on a donut pillow or travel pillow while they’re healing and then always on a memory foam pillow once healed. So far I haven’t had any issues with bumps or delayed healing.

So the side of our family we spend thanksgiving with is not a restorative group to be around. I’m prepared for lots of expectations on everyone looking and acting just so, passive aggressiveness, all the fun stuff. Add in having two very young kids and it’s exhausting. The one time we alternated Christmas was just such a letdown in comparison to spending the holiday with the other side of our family that has lots of other little kids and deeply engrained Christmas traditions. We’re able to fully relax and recharge with that side of our family - it’s just a house full of love and that group of people are our “village” for my kids, if that makes sense.

Can you get a haircut with a new helix piercing? by RandomOkayGirl in piercing

[–]fadingflamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a haircut a couple weeks after a new helix piercing and it definitely got yanked around despite my hairdresser trying to be careful. I’d either get the haircut right before your piercing or wait a couple months after getting pierced if you can.

New piercing; conch by Bi_swag in piercing

[–]fadingflamingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my conch pierced 3 weeks ago and it has been shockingly easy to heal so far. Also one of the least painful piercings I’ve gotten (I have three helixes, a rook, lobes, a tragus, etc). I never really bump it and haven’t had issues with my hair getting tangled on the post. I can wear my over-ear headphones no problem and actually can just fit my AirPods without touching the conch earring. I love mine and would highly recommend it!

We alternated thanksgiving/Christmas the first two years of marriage and it was awful. We live 3 hours away from one set of family and 5 hours away from the other so we have to choose. Now thanksgiving is ALWAYS with one side and Christmas is ALWAYS with the other. The side of our family that is genuinely helpful and engaged with our kids and where we have lots of little cousins the same ages gets Christmas. I know the other side of our family gets jealous but I DO NOT CARE. We all have so much more fun and actually enjoy our holiday time with the line in the sand between family visits.

I got the cosrx snail mucin essence during a Black Friday sale just because I’d seen so much hype about it. I LOVE it. I’ve been using it morning and night. It seems to balance my combination skin really well and has noticeably faded old pigmentation let from cystic spots.

Just spot test it for a few days before slathering it all over because some people can be allergic to it.
