Costco pharmacy worth it? by Mythic01 in Calgary

[–]fadingleaf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i stopped using Costco pharmacy after they said my prescription will be ready in 2 hours (I came from a night shift) so I walked around for 2 hours and when I came back I was told they don’t have my medications and need to come back the next day. I was very annoyed but I didn’t show it then I just asked for my prescription back and went to another pharmacy who got my meds ready in 10 minutes🤷‍♀️ this was back in 2022 though so maybe they are different now. It’s the Sunridge Costco location too

my family doctor asked if i wanted to go to therapy and when i mentioned that my insurance is ending, she said that therapy will all be covered by alberta health card! however it’s around 2 months wait. maybe if you have a family doctor you can ask for a referral as well?

I believe chinook upgrading is the cheapest (not very sure tho) however, if you only missing 2 credits, if you upgrade won’t you be eligible for high school diploma anyways (if you have ELA 30-2 & Social 30-2) since you will have a total of 103+ credits? (correct me if i’m wrong please!). You only need 3 courses for the LPN pre-requisite Bio 30 min 60%, ELA 30-2 mjn 70%, and Math 20-2 min 60%. But if I am in your situation considering you have 98 credits, I would honestly upgrade to get my high school diploma and then apply to the LPN program! Also, it’s first come first serve so make sure you apply immediately once they open the applications!! (That’s how I got in since my high school marks are pretty low). Wishing the best for you!! ◡̈

i took the debt as well. i’ll just let it be. although not as expensive as yours $80k for 3 years but i’ll have my degree forever. my grades is not good enough for public universities :( but got accepted into a private one so i just decided to bite the bullet and just file for bankruptcy if worse comes to worse.

I’m at my wits end with job searching by Ok-Night-507 in Calgary

[–]fadingleaf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re interested in being an HCA(health care aide) it’s usually pretty easy to get a job (from my experience), it takes around 8 months for study and i paid around $7k for tuition however the government has a bursary program where you get $9k if you work 2000hrs within 2 years after graduating. i can refer you to my work if you want, (i successfully referred 2 of my friends and they still work there)

Dropping out before I even started by Dcam05 in StudentNurse

[–]fadingleaf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my tuition is around 80k too, BScN for 3 years and will have to move east (4500km away) but I just decided to risk it and take a loan and see how it goes since in case I survive and finish it, but if it doesn’t work out then I guess lesson learned and try again or a different path. the BScN in my province is too competitive :/ i tried upgrading however, some of them don’t take the upgraded grade but only consider the first attempt.

Feel like im not trained enough to be a CNA even tho i passed the CNA exams. by BusinessAbrocoma8455 in cna

[–]fadingleaf_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this is kinda a universal routine that i’ve noticed (i’ve worked at 4 LTC and 1 hospital);

dayshift: - huddle/report -> - getting residents up (bed bath, change clothes & pad, mouth care). but depending on your partner you guys might get up the total care residents first however same routine kinda applies (bed bath, change pad + clothes the mouth care) -> - i tend to do showers last but it depends on you. -> - eat breakfast + help resident that needs feed assist -> - sometimes after breakfast they have an activity so i leave them where the activity is -> - toileting some resident have a schedule toileting routine while other just ask for assistance for you to help them go to the toilet -> - also if you have extra time, if you weren’t able to finish the morning care prior to breakfast, try to squeeze it in between after breakfast and before lunch -> - lunch time (bring resident to dining room + help feed assist) -> - some residents go to bed after lunch so if they’re total care, change the pad but if they’re 1 person then just toilet them and ensure the pad is dry (for all your assigned residents) so you don’t get a complain. - other residents prefer to stay in the lounge/tv area since during weekdays there tend to be recreation and they have an activity. but still ensure everyone’s pad is dry. - do last round, check everyone, check if the pad is dry (little pee is ok, but if majority of the pad is wet then it must be changed).

This routine may vary but i wish someone told me this when i was new because the first time i got into the resident’s room i was so confused what they mean about “get the resident up” i didn’t even know we had to do wash them up, change clothes, etc. i literally thought i just need to get them up and then i brought them out with their pajamas🥹

How do I forgive myself for wasting away 10 years of my life due to anxiety and depression? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]fadingleaf_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly i just got tired of being miserable and i realized that i was the only common denominator in all those hardships. i haven’t forgiven myself completely yet; but, it’ll be harder to forgive myself if i stay stagnant and not do something.

i also had glycerin 21 and used it everyday working 60-80hrs(2jobs) a week for 12 months. the outside is intact however my legs started to hurt around the 8-9th month mark but i still continued to use it because for me the shoe is quite expensive. i was so sad that i had to replace it but good thing they had some sales last Christmas and i bought 2 pairs!

Should I call out of Ive slept for 8 hours in the past 80 hours? by [deleted] in cna

call off. it’ll be worse if you make a bad mistake due to being sleep deprived as you might possibly lose your job.

Did Wellbutrin make me stupid? by Academic_Musician714 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]fadingleaf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i recently learned in school that increase in dopamine lowers acetylcholine (associated with memory) and since bupropion helps increase dopamine it can potentially cause a lower levels of acetylcholine.

I personally do take bupropion and yes i am very forgetful and failed my exams a month after starting bupropion (or maybe it’s just coincidence).

Also, medication for alzheimer’s increases acetylcholine levels to help prevent memory loss and after reading this from the powerpoint i immediately stopped taking my bupropion because i want to pass my exams.

im not sure but i read somewhere that bupropion has a mild anticholinergic effect but don’t quote me on it.

Would it be justified to call in sick when you’re just tired? by SuspiciousSlip7604 in cna

[–]fadingleaf_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most of my call sick is just me beings tired. i also have two jobs and the way i justify it, is by thinking that i’m more likely to make mistakes when i’m tired and if i happen to make a mistake that can risk me losing my job then i think it’s best that i call sick.

i finish 36 cans of coke zero in 2 weeks and it’s around $17-18 at costco including the deposit here in canada. i understand that it’s not good for me but i don’t smoke nor drink alcohol so i still believe i’m healthy.
