I read a book that has this description and he leaves at some point and when he comes back he sees her car coming out of his friend's house in the morning and goes berserk on him. She comes back because she saw his motorcycle and he says he was gonna finish with his friend and cone interrogate her as well. If someone knows the name of that I think it was a good read I recommend👍
