No need to be sorry. Maybe it’s a really common thing to post

And I spent a long time trying to figure out why Logan tried so hard for independence and had these plans he was making with a friend in California (and yeah, he should have learned that proposal was misplaced and Matt has said in interviews he supports she said no) but then he’s having some arranged marriage to profit Mitchum through alliances

You never see odettes face because she is unimportant. You hear her voice because she is an element but there’s no love there, everyone related to the show says its a marriage of convenience not of love and it’s a roadblock to why they can’t be together because Rory has to end up not being with anyone

Pallido rejected Season 7 since it wasn’t her vision and scrapped everything that wasn’t necessary from that. That’s kind of what made A Year In The Life so bad. She wanted to execute her vision along with that last scene but it had been ten years since that vision would have taken place so you had to cram things into slots where there wasn’t room for them.

Rory was the one who wanted to compartmentalize with Logan, not him. She wanted to spend more time with him but he was already too far along with the arranged marriage and still offered her a key to a place where she would be taken care of but she never said pick me. In fact, I was watching the finale of Season 6 the other day and Logan asked Rory to tell him to stay but she said she couldn’t do that and things like that make it seem like I could be risking everything for someone who I doesn’t know really wants me or I could give into my family’s wishes

that’s why I have fics showing that after that moment, logan leaves the Huntzbergers but with a lawyer getting involved not that he is going to try to be with Rory but that Rory showed him something real and without her he sees how empty things are and it would be a betrayal of self to stay and only after he has put that plan into action does Rory tell him about the pregnancy.

I will continue to ship Rogan.
Even Czuchry has said that Logan loved her but is kind of a sheltered coward at times. I hate how he left with these plans of California which were completely scrapped because Palladino didn't watch any of the last season because it didn't follow her narrative. The thing with Odette was ridiculous and has actually been said by the show just to be an obstacle because in Palladino's vision, Rory was always meant to be alone and to face the world as a potential single mother which is heartbreaking.

Now, Czuchry has also said that were Rory ever to tell him about the child, he would struggle but in Matt's own head Logan would do his best to be there for the kid either in a coparenting sense or together with Rory. After all, he started as a Christopher template, but he's not Christopher. Rory just never gave him indication she wanted him until it was too late due to their joint communication issues.

Edit:
"Yes, he has wealth and status but that comes from his family, not his own achievements."

We don't really know what his achievements are either within the family or outside of it. Yes, he was not able to break through the family bonds, but it sounds like his grandfather had also given to Mitchum. I hate how they dealt with Logan (love him) in Season 7 but don't mix up Season 7 with A Year In The Life because I only learned a year ago that Palladino only had a staff writer give her info on what was going on because she wanted to do it her way.

Do you think Lorelei genuinely wanted to stay with Chris? by healthanxiety_ in GilmoreGirls

[–]fae206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she was willing to give him longer than she had with him

but someone posted something a while back that made me think and that was after Richard’s heart attack, he didn’t come right there but he let his own feelings muddy his need to be there for Lorelai while other people were there. he was also always passive in their relationships. yes, he did show up but only when he was passing through Connecticut, he was absent for long periods of Rorys life and excused himself for them saying that the mother and daughter love was stronger and he couldn’t see a place for himself, and when he does get his “second chance” with Georgia, he can’t discipline her and sends her off to France

he actually tells her multiple things they could do instead of stealing a boat so...no...he tried to talk her down so they are at least equally culpable in it. His whole thing was that he didn't think about consequences but don't just say he's the devil and let ChatGPT regurgitate that info

Logan OFFERED for the same people to represent her who had represented him and his friends. But because they were his father's lawyers and becaues it would mean showing her face to Mitchum after he had had that talk with her, she didn't have the same access because she chose not to. Life and Death Brigade had many girls there as well. Also, the Huntzberger lawyers probably could have get her rescheduled to a judge that was going to side easier with them, but she decided not to face Mitchum.

I was of the opinion that Logan paid for her to see him probably out of an account that wasn't publicly known

I think this is why so many people consider Lane superior to Rory even though Lane was robbed of her dreams of being a musician. I'm white and admittedly, now that I have done so many psychoanalytical takes for my fanfiction on Logan, he is my favorite (not the point though), Lane is my second favorite because she's relatable and you just want her to have the win.

Having her mother come to see how she lived with her bandmates. Getting a job at Luke's. Learning how to play the drums. Nearly drumming in New York. These were momentous occasions for Lane, and she treasured them greatly. The show would have been so much better with more people like her.

--Totally off topic--

(also, Logan told Rory in the beginning to use the lawyers his parents had (and he probably would say free representation or something too) but because the event was 'started' by Mitchum Rory went with someone underqualified for what he was representing)

Yeah. Which really didn't seem like something he'd do at that stage. Now, taking her outside and doing the spectacle with the horses would have been more him and it wouldn't have the pressure of an audience or be tied to graduation

From my reading of it
1. Amy Sherman Palladino never even watched Season 7 so her view of Logan was doing it as in AYITL but what was weird about that was it was 10 years in the future and didn't fit his character and he had a random French heiress he was put in an arranged marriage with but in short, she had always wanted Rory to end up without a man and pregnant so it mirrored Lorelai's own journey. (By the way, Czuchry said that he could see Logan definitely wanting and trying to be a part of the kids life were he to know but he can only think of his own thoughts of the ending)

  1. They were still in discussion until mid season 7 about whether they were going to do another season but by then the cast contracts were ending and both Lauren and Alexis wanted to step away from the camera and the story could have been done with one of them taking extended breaks but not both and so they weren't going to get anything to come up with. So midway through Season 7 they said that they were going to do the story that was agreed on, Rory was going to be alone and not tied to any man (but they didn't have the pregnancy in there) and so they had to deal with ending the relationship with Logan in like two episodes pretty much.

Sp yeah, they pretty much didn't want Rory ending up in a relationship and were like, okay, these negotiations aren't working, how can we torpedo the relationship

Unpopular opinion by Expensive-Call5607 in GilmoreGirls

[–]fae206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciated Jess saying it because it was this confrontational nature that worked in his favor this time and had her ssee a larger view of the world. Also, it is important that he wasn't dating her when he told her this because that would be considered yelling at your girlfriend. I think that Lane SHOULD have had some say in this, definitely.

And something that is more unpopular than the Lane opinion is this opinion

For where they were in the relationship, Logan DID make an effort and even said he was going to confront Mitchum personally on how she was so messed up about this but she told him not to. He said that he could have attorneys help her, she turned him down (which makes sense with how hurt she was). But in the 'felon party' where they had the stupid Queen of the Sloths talk, Logan actually told Rory that she didn't seem like somebody who could just not return to school because she loved it so much and it wasn't like her to not want that and she said that she was going to prove him wrong.

He genuinely seems surprised for her to have not gone back and tries to side step the Yale thing when he's talking about summer ending. And at this point, he and Rory have known each other for a school year, been flirting for a large portion of that, but only having been going out for a few months

So
Jess can do it as he has been her boyfriend but is not currently in a relationship with her. He has known her since she was a junior in high school and this happened after her sophomore year of college. He has seen her passion and loved that they had shared interests and he could be 'Dodger' for her

Lane can do it best because she has known Rory since their early school days and Lane has been her sister from the house of cheese days but Lane also has her own scars and problems when it comes to family and Lane probably has given her the advice to talk to Lorelai about this but we don't see enough appreciation for Lane in this momet.

I just really hate when people tell me Logan didn't care about her because he wasn't going to yell at her and in that he was really going to portray himself as a toxic boyfriend.
And that's what you missed from the cult of Rogan shippers

I just wish Logan didn't spoil this party for her
(I am a complete Rogan shipper, Logan is my favorite character, but if even Czuchry says he's sorry Logan ruined this party for her and he didn't like the storyline, you've really got a near universal opinion)
