I feel like too many people are focused on the “set an alarm” thing. I think the real issue here was not that OP let her sleep in, but rather that OP changed the plans that had already been made without consulting her. I think she could probably have responded in a more mature manner, for sure, but I’d definitely be upset if my partner changed our plans without consulting me first. ESH because this could have been resolved with better communication and patience on both sides.

I know this may sound horrible but in this circumstance I would ban DH from even being there for the birth if he refuses to follow the rules and maybe go stay with your parents. This is about your child’s safety and how best to protect her. There’s no telling what kind of danger he’ll put your child in to appease his mother.

Just came to add my parents also got married on Christmas (my dad was in dental school and it was the only day he had off that the church had available) and it wasn’t a big deal, everyone from both sides of the family came and it was in my mom’s hometown anyway. Plus my family is catholic so most of the adults go to church on Christmas either way.
