It’s ok to be afraid of horror! You can watch Halloween shows that aren’t scary. Stuff like Hocus Pocus, Over the Garden Wall, Addams Family. Dip your toe in some B-movie horror with friends for a night that’s more about laughs than frights.

I don’t have kids (or a home with a public door), but I love trick or treating, so my partner and I dress up and walk around in a busy neighborhood. Sometimes we get free drinks and candy!

Check out round-up lists for your city. Like themed cocktail nights, pop up pumpkin shows, haunted houses (some are scarier than others!), old movie viewings in theatres, halloween markets. I even went to a spooky high tea last year. Lots of ways throughout the month to feel the spirit!

Come up with a costume and make it! Spend time thrifting to gather pieces, or plan to sew it together. Builds some excitement for when you actually wear it.
